Eddie woke up to the soft light of dawn filtering through the curtains of the luxurious bedroom. He rubbed his eyes and glanced at the clock on the bedside table. Panic surged through him when he saw the time. He was already late for work. Jumping out of bed, he hurriedly dressed, trying to be as quiet as possible to avoid waking Lorraine.

But it was too late. Lorraine stirred, her eyes fluttering open as she looked up at him with a sleepy smile. "Good morning, Eddie," she purred, stretching languidly on the bed.

"Good morning, Lorraine," Eddie replied, his voice tense. "I really need to go. I'm late for work, and I'm worried about what will happen if your husband finds out."

Lorraine laughed softly and sat up, her silk nightgown slipping off one shoulder. "Relax, Eddie. I already told Will that I was going to my family's house for a few days. He's completely clueless."
