THE RESCUE 2

The remaining three Payan natives towered above Romeo, two of them were with sword while the third who was the man they saw humping the elf held something like a charm different from the one he placed around the elf's neck.

The Payani men uttered some words, then one of them gave Romeo a kick on his face. Without wasting much time the same man seized Romeo by the tunic and flung him to a tree trunk.

Romeo held his back which began to ache due to the impact with which he crashed his back on the tree. He gave out a loud cry groaning in pain. Even with that the men did not look pleased, no doubt it was due to the death of their comrades who were slain earlier on by Romeo.

The third man still naked with his cork now flaccid and dangling moved towards Romeo together with the other two. The Payani man pointed his charm towards Romeo and uttered some incantations.

Romeo's body became stiff and he began to convulse, shaking violently with blood running from his nose.
