THE BEGINNING
"I knew it." Lord Mordian whispered to himself."Did you just say something Lord Mordian?" Prince Elrond asked."Oh no, it is nothing - what I said does not concern what you said about King Arron Thickroar." Lord Mordian said, looking innocently at the elven prince.Prince Elrond then put up a long stare at him, looking searchingly at his eyes. "Is there something you know that we do not know?" He asked. "Or maybe there is something that you are hesitant to speak to us about."Lord Mordian's eyes moved to Galrut's direction, however Galrut refused to make an eye contact with him, thus he looked somewhere else. "Why do you ask?""Why I ask is not the problem, now answer the question would you?" He snapped.Lord Mordian was silent for about seven heartbeats. "What if I refuse to answer your question, what would you do to me?" He turned cold, putting up a daring stare at prince Elrond, clenching his jaw and caressing the silver shaft of his sword.Prince Elrond then rested his back on his
Prince Elrond began to chuckle. "Ah Lord Mordian, you are a hard man to get into, I wonder why it is so difficult for you to talk, even when you are aware that I know everything you conceal from me.""Like I said before, it is a new trait of mine." He said. "And I love putting people in suspence.""You mean you prefer to be unpredictable?" Prince Gedd Bugbeard asked."Something like that." He replied dryly.Prince Bifur, prince Moka, and prince Gedd Bugbeard began to chuckle, only prince Elrond continued his steady gaze at Lord Mordian."However Lord Mordian, I hope your unpredictability is going to cause you to be efficient in the task we would require from you?" Said Lord Bifur."What task?" Lord Mordian sat up, and turned to prince Elrond, looking at him in askance."At the commencement of the civil war, we desire to make the first move to attack." Lord Moka said, taking time to pronounce each word.Lord Mordian creased his eyebrows, struggling to understand what Lord Moka was sayin
Lord Mordian supervised the burial of eight minotaurs, that the elven soldiers assigned to his command had caught spying on their ranks upon their arrival in Midland. The heads of the slain minotaur scouts were severed, and their bodies were battered with arrows made of steel, that skewered through their torso, including their necks, with their crimson blood flowing all over the place."We are very lucky to have been able to catch this scouts." Said one of the captains that stood beside him.Lord Mordian heaved a sigh. "Yes Mojrond, we are very lucky." He replied. "I suspect that the minotaurs in Midland would not be expecting us." "That is also true Mojrond, and it is going to be very advantageous for us, when we begin our attack." Lord Mordian said. "They have lots of artillery, very, very dangerous weapons that can wipe out this whole army within a few hours, but now that the scouts that are to inform them of our arrival in Midland are dead, then surely they would not suspect our
Lagnin, Hoglor, and the other dwarves were allowed to enter Midland through the gates without fuss. The wagon were they had hidden the severed heads of the eight minotaurs that were slain back at the camp was unchecked, however, considering the fact that they were dwarves, the minotaurs who served as sentries, there at the Midland gate did not seem to be suspicious of anything, thus affirming the fact that they were truely unaware of the pronouncement of the civil war, and also the presence of the elven army that was now a bit closer to the Midland gates. It was now sunset, Lord Mordian and his army were positioned behind a grassy elevetion that made it impossible for the minotaur sentries there at the Midland gates, to have a clear view of the elven ranks."Do the minotaurs position any artillery on the crenellations?" Captain Mojrond asked.Lord Mordian shaded his eyes from the sun, strained his eyes and tilted it to the left a bit, so he could avoid the obstruction that was caused
The arrows released from the minotaurs caught some of the archers, who shot their arrows from the towers. When the elven archers at the tower saw that the minotaurs began to strike back, they began to take cover, some of them pulled their wounded comrades from the attack platforms, while some who were unlucky fell from the tower which was up to a hundred feet, dying immediately they touched ground. The strike back from the defenders became intense, and after a sometime, what caught Lord Mordian's gaze brought him great fear, and in that very instant, he began to have goosebumps.A barrage of torched missiles, made their way into the sky, after springing up from inside the gates. "All units on the right flank, disembark from your position!" Lord Mordian bellowed, upon sighting the trajectory of some of the projectiles, which was aimed at the right flank of his army ranks. The elven soldiers at the aforementioned position immediately took to their heels, so they could avoid the incomin
After Lagnin, Hoglor, and the eight dwarves had incited their compatriots into staging an uprising against the colonial government, the dwarves began to organise attacks on the minotaurs that resided in Midland, both civilian and military. The dwarves found the motivation to help overthrow Gudfejn Jaggedhide's government, when Lagnin showed them the severed heads of the minotaurs that were killed back at the elven camp, and also when it became clear to them that the Aran Sereng was leading the elves to lay siege on Midland. They took up long spears, swords and clubs, loitered around the streets of Midland, and began destroying the possessions, and infrastructures that belonged to their Gorelish colonial masters. It was at that point that Lagnin, Hoglor and their accomplices where shocked to their bone marrows because just before the dwarves began to revolt, they went underground and brought out other artillery weapons that they had hidden. This included gastraphetes (siege crossbows)
The mounted soldiers on the elven side galloped steadily on a quick pace, while they led the units on foot as they charged menacingly at the minotaurs, however it was not long before the elves closed in on their adversaries and a bloody skirmish began. With the elves now one on one with the minotaurs, they began jabbing, thrusting and hacking at one another, however Lord Mordian and his army showed spirit, fighting with bravery, not minding the fearsome stature of their enemies, and the dreaded blows of their labrys.Meanwhile, the previous day, prince Elrond had granted Lord Mordian's request by handing over to him the armor of Serdi the brave, an armor he decided to wear to this ongoing battle in Midland. It was a golden chest plate armour, with the head of a lion crested in the middle. Diamond stones encircled the crested figure and the shoulders of the unique gear which was as admirable as it was sacred. The golden greaves, and bracers where also decorated with diamonds, and lion
Upon hearing news of king Arron Thickroar and his army marching towards Dunfelm, the allied leaders moved with their armies to face him in battle, however they hoped that their decision to entrust Lord Mordian with an army to lay a siege on Midland would yield a positive result, which was to dissolve the Gorelish colonial government, and deliver the long ranged armaments to the allied forces. The allied leaders also sent some envoys including Klara, who they saw as a diplomat, to Ogland so they could seek support from the orcs.Despite the four leaders sending the envoys to Ogland, they were doubtful that the orcs would heed to their request and join the alliance.Soon the allied army were now upon Dunfelm, a small grassy region that was part of Pinkiland and they halted upon sighting the minotaur ranks. Members of the allied forces were taken aback, by the sudden appearance of the minotaurs, but the fact that they were able to catch up with them, while they were making their journey
