Chapter 11

Archie was wondering what Ryder meant by what he said but was interrupted by his father descending the stairs with a smile.

Marshall beamed at his son who was standing with Ryder. There was nothing that was stopping him from making Ryder go back to school. Maybe now that Archie was around, Ryder would be more serious. "He's not the problem, son. I didn't see that you were committed enough. If I see you showing interest in the things that matter, I will make you return to school."

Archie noticed the strain between both father and son. So he decided to exempt himself from the situation.

"It was great spending time with you however, it's getting late and I have to run," Archie said and they didn't say anything.

"Thank you for dinner." He added before turning away.

"Thank you too."

Archie nodded carefully before turning away. "No, not so fast," Marshall replied swiftly and he turned towards his father.

"I'm sorry?"

"You can't just leave, Marcel will take you home."
