Chapter 21

Archie picked up his phone and decided to call his bosses. He didn't know how to tell them that he wouldn't be resuming for two days. He was having a meeting that would span till the next day. It didn't help that one of his bosses, Mr. Trent knew his mother and even had a crush on her despite being married and he feared that he would call his mother and report her.

"Why are you calling when you should be at work? "

"I don't think it's my fault. I was held up in school, we had this very important assignment to submit that we had to wait to do it after school. We also had practical classes that would help us with our grades." Archie lied, feeling very guilty for doing so because it wasn't what his mother taught him.

She had advised that he be as transparent as possible but this needed to be done because it was obviously not going to be easy to explain why he wasn't at work.

"You can take the week off but don't resume anymore."
