Chapter 05

“What are we going to do now? Axel will surely kill us if he finds out about this.” Cross whispered to Mr. White as they looked at the front of the damaged car while I was hiding behind them. They turned to me at the same time as they looked at me intently.

“Axel shouldn't know about this and when he sees what happened to his favorite car, just tell him it's my fault.” He said that it shocked us all, especially Cross and Ruby.

“What do you mean? Why should we lie to him? Let's just tell him the truth about who damaged his car.” Ruby said as she turned to me with a frown. I immediately avoided looking at her and turned away because their hands were on fire as they were so angry with me.

While we were busy figuring out how to resolve the problem I had caused, we suddenly heard the doorbell ringing from outside, so we were immediately confused as to how we could get back upstairs.

“What are we going to do now? Where are we going to get up there?” Ruby asked them with a trace of confusion on her face.

“Have you forgotten what we are?” Cross replied to her, and then they flew back to the top, while I was left alone there and just looked up at them.

“What are you doing there? Are you just going to stare at it?” Ruby said to me, but I just scratched the back of my head because I don't know how to fly, so they just threw me a long rope, and they quickly pulled me up effortlessly. Then we immediately left Axel's room and the three of us sat on the sofa as if nothing had happened, and then Mr. White opened the door to find out who rang the doorbell there.

When he opened the door, a group of men with long black capes on their backs entered. Then they came to me and held me by both of my arms, which surprised me.

“Wait, what are you doing to me? What have I done wrong to you?” I asked them, as I was trying to get away from them when suddenly the man with the black hat showed me a piece of paper.

“We have a summon warrant for you, Axel.” He said, which surprised me, even more, when Mr. White stepped closer to us.

“Wait a minute, why are you arresting him? What has he done wrong?” he asked them, so his attention turned to him.

“Don't pretend like you don't know what we're here for.” He replied to him with a serious face.

“I think it's about Vladimir.” After Cross said, we all turn at him as he approached us. “We found Axel in the town where we also found Vladimir lifeless, and it looks like he died with Axel's sword.” He added, and it seems that I have been clarified about what is happening.

So if the Vladimir he was referring to was the vampire I saw that day and the immortal I killed accidentally. Maybe that's why they're hunting me now, and by the looks of them, they look like vampires too.

“But it was all an accident. I didn't kill him, my hands just moved against my will, and then-” I was cut off when Mr. White spoke, and it looked like he did it to stop me from giving the rest of the information to them, and they might realize that I am not the real Axel.

“Then we will also join you. I am the leader of this group, so I am also responsible for him.” He said, and the vampire in front of us was silent for a moment, then he just nodded his head. I thought we were going through the door, but in the blink of an eye, we suddenly ended up somewhere else.

These immortals are truly amazing. I also want to learn how to teleport to another place like what he did.

“Superior, the murderer who killed Vladimir is here.” The man in the black hat said to the man sitting on his dark throne. I couldn't see his face because of the darkness where he was. After all, he was a vampire, and they were afraid of the light.

“Hey, who is Vladimir and why did they bring us here instead of jail?” I whispered curiously to Ruby, who was next to me. She turned to me with one eyebrow raised and whispered in my ear.

“He is the son of their master or the king of the vampires.” Her response shocked me, and I immediately approached their leader and knelt in front of him.

“Please forgive me, your majesty, for the foolishness I have done. I did not mean what happened, and I did not control my power. Please believe me, I did not want to kill your son.” I begged while bowing my head and looking at the ground.

If I don't do that, they might find out about me pretending to be Axel, and the four of us might die here now. That's why, even though I know that my apology to him won't be enough to make up for the weight of the sin I committed against them, I still have to make sacrifices and find a way unless I want to die at the hands of vampires.

He didn't respond right away, but I heard a sigh from him, and he was moving his fingers as if he were thinking about the punishment he was going to give me.

“Vladimir is my sixteenth child, and he is one of my favorite children.” When I heard his voice, I bowed down even more while my heart beat faster and faster due to extreme nervousness. He was silent again, and I heard him fall twice on his cane. I didn't know that he was signaling an order to his staff, so suddenly a female vampire approached me as she handed me a bowl with blood. Therefore, I looked up at her with a look of astonishment on my face.

Does he want me to drink this blood? But I'm not a vampire, and I certainly don't drink fresh blood from a human.

However, even though I was confused and scared, I took from her hand what she was handing me and I stared at it carefully. I was about to drink it, but I immediately stopped when I heard Mr. White's voice.

“Do you wish to punish him by drinking deadly poison?” After he said that, my eyes widened in shock and I immediately let go of the bowl I was holding, causing it to fall and spill its contents on the ground. Suddenly, their superior stood up in great anger, and even though I couldn't see his face, I could feel his anger toward us as he looked in the direction of Mr. White.

“Why not? That's the only punishment he deserves for murdering my son. Are you judging my right as Vladimir's father and the superior of our tribe?” he said, and it was obvious in his horrifying voice how much he hated us.

“I have never judged your conduct as the superior of the vampires, but you must first ask the permission of our sovereign before you punish him. He has committed a great offense against you, but he is still part of our organization, he is still a grim reaper like us and as the leader of our team I have the right to stop you and disobey what you want to happen.” He boldly replied to him as he came to us and stood by my side.

“You've seen enough of him and heard his explanation, so we have to take him now because we have something important to go to. If you wish to punish him in your way, please go to our superior and tell him all your complaints about him.” He added, so I was even more amazed by him as I looked up at him dumbfounded.

“Stand up there, Axel, we have to get out of here.” He said, and I immediately stood up while still looking at him. He held me by my right hand, and we turned around. We were about to leave that place when suddenly we heard a loud rant from their superior.

“Kill them! None of them can get out of here alive. Kill all four of them and bring me their heads.” He ordered his soldiers, so the vampires immediately blocked us and close the way out of this cave.

My eyes widened in shock and fear because this was not what I expected to happen. It seems we have no other choice but to die in this place.

“What do you think you're doing?” but I was even more shocked when Mr. White shouted at him while his two fists were clenched. It seems like I've only seen him like that, and he's scarier when he gets angry than the man who stands as the leader of the vampires. “Get us out of here now, or we're going to have a war here right now? I'm sure you don't want to lose some of your servants, right?” He added as a blue flame climbed his body, and suddenly Ruby pulled me away from him.

“When you see the blue fire on his body, get away from him immediately, unless you want to turn to ashes in just five seconds.” She whispered, which startled me, and I immediately looked in Mr. White's direction.

“Didn't you hear what I told you? Why are you all just standing there? Kill them all!” he shouted angrily at the same time Mr. White grinned, and then he took out a sword from his hand.

“Just make sure you won't regret it because you're the one who started this war.” After saying that, without hesitation, he stabbed his sword into the chest of the vampire who was close to him. It immediately fell to the ground and burned until to ashes as Ruby said to me.
