CHAPTER 199

Terry didn’t expect Jacob would answer, but after about fifteen seconds of ringing, Jacob answered.

Long silence followed as none spoke immediately.

“Hello, my friend,” Terry started the conversation, sounding tentative. “How are you doing?”

“What can a poor man do in the middle of the day?” Jacob sarcastically replied. “Work his ass off so he wouldn’t go to sleep on a hungry stomach.”

“I… feel for you.”

“Do you?” Jacob harrumphed. “Really?”

“Yeah,” Terry’s tone grew some base. “I never had any issues with you, only with your son-in-law.”

Jacob’s expression briefly froze. As Terry kept on speaking about what had happened with his daughter by adding many more things than what had actually happened, Jacob was left speechless.

“That’s why I couldn’t help you when you came to me last time,” Terry stated in a pitiful tone. “I should have told this to you sooner, but I didn’t know that your son-in-law was our common enemy. Only recently I came to know that you are not on good terms with him
