CHAPTER 213

Jacob had gone out for an early walk in the morning. He would usually walk in the garden whenever he had free time, but this time, he decided to hit the streets.

The people in the neighborhood who would die to talk with him in the past were now looking at him with either pitiful or mocking expressions that weren’t so obvious. He couldn’t even make eye contact with them for long. Keeping his head straight, he kept walking.

“When I had money, everyone treated me like I was their big brother, but now, they don’t even want to talk to me. Even my own family members began treating me differently.” He felt some trouble breathing. “This is the bitter truth of reality.”

An old man approached him, while walking his dog. “Mr. Jacob, since when are you coming outside for a walk?”

“Just started it today, Mr. Wesley,” replied Jacob, with a bit of a happy tone, glad that someone was willing to talk with him. Wesley owned food-processing facilities and was a millionaire.
