CHAPTER 254

“Mom was right,” Rebecca was talking to herself after walking out of Ryan’s room. “You can’t trust anyone when it comes to money.” As she remembered how her own mother had kept Rebecca’s money with her, she smiled rather helplessly.

Some of the moneylenders who were playing cards were staring at her without blinking as she passed by. She could see the lust in their eyes, even though some of them were trying to smile politely.

“How would these moneylenders have behaved if it was Mom who owed them money and not Dad?” Rebecca didn’t even want to think about it. At the moment, as she felt gazes from every direction, she started feeling insecure for being born as a woman.

Rebecca then went to Benyamin’s room. He was resting on his bed, but after he heard the knocking, he rushed to the door and opened it quickly as though he knew she was outside. He welcomed her in with a bright countenance. “Come inside, please.”
