CHAPTER 266

“You’re taking too long, Jane,” Steve complained while watching television in Jane’s apartment.

“Just one more minute,” Jane replied. She was giving last touches to her eyelashes.

“I don’t get it. I’m the one you’re supposed to look good in front of, right? Do you prepare for hours every time before meeting me as well?” he couldn’t help but ask.

“You wouldn’t want to know.”

“That means a no,” Steve sulked a bit. “By the way, when are your parents returning?”

“When I told them about the party, they wanted to return as soon as possible, but they missed the flight because they were buying a suit for you.”

“For me?” Steve snorted. “I won't buy it for a second.” He wasn’t particularly treated well by them, after all. He looked at Jane’s grandmother who was sitting right next to him and was also watching the television, but she glanced at him and saw that his foot was resting on the glass table. She immediately struck his foot with her walking stick. “Aw! What was that for?”
