“S-She’s the woman Lord Benjamin has chosen?”

“Why’s she so ugly?”

“He chose her over Lady Rye? Lord Benjamin must be blind!”

Dozens of teenagers had gathered around the bench where Rebecca was lying unconsciously.

“You’ve seen her enough. Now, leave, so she can breathe!” Mina barked at them, and they ran away like scared little cats.

In the garden, Galen and Rye were both standing, facing the south. Mina came up to them.

Rye glanced at Mina with a frown on her face. “Are you sure he didn’t say anything?”

Mina slowly shook her head. “He just left without saying anything. I told him to stop, but he didn’t.”

Rye’s heart was ringing in her ears. “What is he thinking?” She couldn’t hide her anxiousness and began biting her nails. “He’s been hiding everything from me. And I thought I was his best friend. Does he think I will stop caring for him just because he refused to marry me?”
