Dahlia and Akira were going through the tunnels, with the weakened Goliath forced to tag along with them.

They came across pregnant undeads, which Dahlia took care of with her daggers.

“Why are there only pregnant women standing in our way?” Dahlia shot a glance at Goliath.

“How would I know?” Goliath dodged the question. “This is my first time coming through these pathways.”

“I think these women were experimented upon in the past,” Akira opined. She was still fully covered in black hood and a black mask. Her entire appearance was hidden from top to bottom. “I heard that vampires always tested on pregnant women, probably to see how the child in the womb would be affected. After all, vampires can’t give birth to children. I think that’s why they do all these experiments.”

“Vampires can give birth if they mate with the person with the mark,” Dahlia replied, startling Akira.

“Person with the mark?” Akira was hearing about this for the first time. “What mark?”
