Hi, guys. Please do try my novel Jim is Him, which is going to be finished in two to three months at best. The story happens in the same world as this novel, and it tackles more on the demon-related worldbuilding. I see that reader Liwhundebe Emmanuel has tried it, and I hope you're enjoying the novel. Thanks, and Cheers.
Jacob thought a lot about what to do with the current situation, and then he came to meet Uzza who was spending most of her time in the garden.“Do you have time to spare, ma’am?” he asked her.“I always have time,” Uzza said while she put a finger into the earth. “If not, I’ll make some time. So, go on.”Jacob didn’t know what Uzza was doing, but she was actually removing the acidic nature of the soil so that the bacteria would die and the plants would grow faster. This was her way of paying the trees back for the food she had eaten. When she pulled her finger out, it turned blue.“A-Are you alright?” Jacob was shocked by the color of her finger. “Did you get bitten by some spider or something?”“No, I’m totally fine,” Uzza squeezed her forefinger with the other hand, and a drop of liquid came out from underneath her finger nail. She flicked it away into the sky, and the drop of liquid never fell to the ground.“I have seen some crazy things with my own eyes,” Jacob said, “but I’ve n
Though Louis and Andrew had warned each other on phone, they couldn’t meet on that same night for multiple reasons. Louis had Uzza enter the Sterling villa, so he couldn’t leave. At the same time, Andrew also had some personal things to worry about because his son and daughter-in-law were quarreling a lot and were bringing shame to his name. Also, because of a cylone storm heading in their direction, the winds were whipping strong near the Sterling villa, strong enough to uproot the fruit and vegetable shop tent that Akash had built. The storm outside brought the people inside the villa close together. Most of them gathered in the hall and were talking about many things. Because the doors and windows were shut, it was rather calm inside. And Rebecca asked Uzza a question nobody expected, “Did you get married?”It was such a personal question that could easily offend someone, so everyone thought Uzza might get angry at Rebecca.“No, I haven’t,” Uzza said.“Then, do you have children?”
The storm was going strong. Many of the plants in the garden of the villa got uprooted and swept away, but surprisingly the grass was still able to stay where it was.Uzza was sitting on the balcony, under an extended ceiling, so that she stayed just out of the reach of the rain.“It’s funny how the big things fall first when the storm hits,” she thought to herself while drinking sweet and hot almond milk that went well with the rain.Amber and Kathy were wondering from the inside of the building why Uzza was sitting outside in such harsh weather.“Isn’t she afraid of getting hit by an object that comes flying in the wind?” Kathy blurted.“I would be. It’s better to stay indoors in this weather. She’s either reckless or just plain stupid,” Amber commented.“How long is this rain going to be there?”“I don’t know, but I heard that woman saying it will last for a day or two.”“That’ll destroy the whole damn garden!” Kathy cried out because she wouldn’t be able to earn money anymore. “Wh
Lisa came to her dad and asked, “Dad, can you give me some money?”“What for?” Shawn asked.“I’m learning some courses online, so…”Shawn liked what she said because she was focused on learning subjects even when a storm was rampaging outside. “I don’t have any money in my account,” he said because his accounts were frozen by the court after his recent case proved him guilty. But he got away with fine and not punishment, thanks to the influence of his parents as well as his own connections, some of which had to do with him promising others that they might have a chance at marrying Rebecca if they helped him. “But I will ask your mom and give it to you.”“Okay. Send it to my account, Dad,” Lisa said, then gave him a hug and quickly went to her room. She was still a minor, but she still had a bank account which was jointly opened with Rebecca. Neither Shawn nor Elizabeth knew of this, though.Shawn came to Elizabeth and asked her, “Do you have some money?”“How much?” Elizabeth, who was
Lisa told Rebecca everything that had happened.Rebecca used her mobile to talk in the group chat and see what exactly they were asking her to do, and it didn’t take her more than a minute to come to the decision that these people were just scammers.“Sorry, Lisa. Your money is gone,” Rebecca told her.Lisa was brought to tears. “How can I be so stupid? Dad gave me that money when I said I’ll use it for learning online courses. What will he think if he knows that it’s all spent?”“It’s okay. It’s only 10,000 dollars. I’ll add the money into your account,” Rebecca told her, making Lisa so emotional that she hugged Rebecca and cried some more and apologized to her for being so stupid. “What’s done is done, but let us go and file a complaint to the police.”“W-What?” Lisa was shocked. “I-If we do that, my dad will know. He will kill me.”“But we have to do it so that the police will look into it, and they’ll have the accounts of these scammers freezed,” Rebecca said, “at the least.”Rebe
Hours passed, but the storm was still very much there.Kathy already cried enough, and she didn’t have anymore tears left to shed after seeing the damage the winds did to her plants. Leaves and branches were everywhere. All the banana trees had collapsed. The beautiful garden now looked ugly and messy.Amber tried to comfort her cousin, but Kathy didn’t stop cursing the weather. She even blamed Akash for not doing anything.“What can he do when the storm is so rough and strong?” Amber reasoned with her.“So many bananas were wasted, Amber,” Kathy cried out. “Had he fixed supports for them properly, they would have withstood the storm.”“I don’t think so. The banana plants are delicate, Kathy. Don’t you think you’re blaming Akash because you don’t have anyone else to blame?”“Shut up, Amber. If you spent hours of time every day on those plants, you’d be scolding him right now, too! Even more than I do.”Amber didn’t say anything afterward. She could only hope that the storm would go aw
At Drake’s restaurant.Jim and his dad Marcus were busy competing with each other, trying to cook spinach and prawns together. There were no customers because of the storm. Yes, they kept their restaurant open even in the middle of a massive storm. And they were ready to serve in case a customer were to enter their place. However, because there were no customers right now, they were just passing time by challenging each other in various ways. After they finished cooking the dish, they tasted both the dishes, and Jim began to shake his head straight away. “We both used the same ingredients. I even copied the exact amount of salt and spices you used. But how is it that yours tastes much better than mine?”“If just adding ingredients is enough to make a dish, then everybody can work as a chef in a five-star hotel,” Marcus chortled. “Let me tell you why the dish you made is average. The most important mistake you made is you added too much water. For prawns, you don’t need to add as much
Somewhere else in the country.Andrew walked many miles and finished his campaigning in that city and even distributed food, drinks, and free money to some poor people. His stunts made the news related to him go viral, and the people that doubted him, saying he was too old to be the president had gone silent now.Andrew later stopped by a large shelter where the homeless people were being allowed to stay. This place used to be a prison in the past.Andrew along with Brandon Conreid talked with the homeless people and captured it on the videos to later telecast the whole thing. As he was talking with a group of people, one of them raised his hand and asked, “Mr. Andrew, you’re a billionaire. There are only a few hundred people in this camp. If you just wish it, you can easily allot us flats in a remote place. It wouldn’t even cost as much compared to the mega yachts you buy every year. If you can give us a roof over our heads, we’ll definitely vote for you and even tell everyone we kn
