CHAPTER 564

Jim was the only one taking care of the restaurant now because his dad went somewhere.

“Every Thursday, he goes off somewhere for hours,” Jim thought. “Where exactly is he going? Or, who exactly is he seeing? Why is he keeping it a secret from me? Does he think I’ll feel bad about it? It’s been so long since Mom died, and I think he can see other women if he wants to. I’ve got no problem with that. I’m not a kid anymore. If he wants to bring a woman into his life so that he won’t be alone in his old age, I’ll happily help him.”

A few seconds of silence passed.

“But what about me?” Jim cut the vegetables faster. “I should get married, too, but if I do it before him, it’ll be weird for him to marry after that. Then, I should wait until he marries someone.”

Jim then remembered Rebecca. “I don’t have her number. I do have her address,but how am I supposed to meet her? And when I meet her, what am I supposed to say?”
