Alleyway

Aria and Nalia stumbled through the portal back into the Nexus, exhaustion etched on their faces. The serene glow of the Tree of Worlds washed over them, a stark contrast to the oppressive darkness they'd just left behind.

"Well," Aria muttered, brushing debris from her robes, "that was... intense."

Nalia nodded, her eyes distant. "More than intense. That Shadow... it felt familiar, didn't it? Like an echo of the Eternal Night."

Aria's brow furrowed. She'd had the same nagging feeling throughout their battle, but hearing Nalia voice it made it impossible to ignore. "You don't think...?"

"I think we need to be prepared for anything," Nalia replied, her tone grim. "The Eternal Night may be gone, but its influence could linger in ways we haven't even considered."

They made their way to the base of the Tree, its pulsing energy a soothing balm to their battered spirits. As they approached, a leaf detached itself from a low-hanging branch, floating down to land in Aria's outstretched palm.
