Destiny, or a lie

Jaden stood before Dr. Frost, his mind still reeling from the visions he'd experienced in the ancient temple. The alarm continued to blare throughout the facility, a constant reminder of the crisis unfolding outside.

"What do you mean, the harbinger of its transformation?" Jaden asked, his voice low and tense. "What do you know about all this?"

Frost's eyes gleamed with an otherworldly light. "More than you might think, Jaden Craig. But now isn't the time for a full explanation. Your team needs you."

As if on cue, Zoe's voice crackled over the intercom. "Jaden, where are you? We need to move!"

With a last, searching look at Frost, Jaden turned and sprinted towards the command center. He'd get answers from her later, one way or another.
