"How did this happen? What went wrong with the submission?" Mrs. Miller said with a voice filled with a lot of disappointment and frustration as she addressed the male staff.

The worker, still catching his breath, explained, "It appears that the documents required for the Morris contract were not submitted on time. The Morris group has already made a move and the court case will be won in their favor. We don't stand a chance against them without those documents."

The weight of the situation intensified as Mrs. Miller processed the implications. The once-promising opportunity that Henry had presented was overshadowed by the immediate loss of a crucial contract. Vanessa's attempt to deflect attention now seemed inconsequential in the face of this setback.
