Ludwit City

Three years had passed since the great battle between Shadow and The Circle that took place in the site that was now known as the Forsaken Mountain located in the Rolemor Kingdom. This was an event that captured the attention of all the inhabitants of the continent. Many doubted the veracity of Shadow's death but, considering his character and the fact that he had been missing for several years, everyone finally concluded that the great villain that once tormented the continent had moved on to a better life.

At first, both the major royal families and The Circle had strong doubts about his death, employing an enormous amount of resources to find his whereabouts, but in the end, they came to the same conclusion as the common people. The human being's ability for self-conviction was certainly to be feared....

Three years ago, Luke had also thought that blowing up the pendant would sentence him to death, but he couldn't have been more wrong. The pendant had teleported him to the outskirts of the Vitalis Kingdom, a place far enough from the Rolemor Kingdom.

The Aurora Continent was divided into 3 areas of influence, with all the human kingdoms in the middle. To the west was the Beast Mountain Range, where practically all the wild Magical Beasts lived. To the east were the Lost Lands, a place of which little was known, but where it was rumored that demons nicknamed Dark Ones existed.

During the first 5000 years, humans came to occupy almost 70% of the extension of it, but with the fall of the Great Amethyst Empire, mankind began to gradually give ground. By the year 6000, the Dark Ones managed to crush humanity and drive them back to the Fallen's Forest, where the most powerful cultivators of that era sacrificed themselves to put an end to this advance by placing a powerful magical seal.

In Luke's opinion, only those people deserved to be praised by the public. For him, the only people worthy of admiration were those who were willing to do anything to achieve their goal. Not like the babies who belonged to The Circle, who three years ago proved to him that they were nothing more than cowards who valued their lives above anything else.

From the year 6000 onwards, mankind went even further downhill, until they were forced to retreat to the well-known Beast Mountain Range in a war that went on for more than 4000 years and was only stopped by the difficulties of fighting in that place.

Returning to the present, in the year 20316 since the establishment of the Aurora Continent, the influence area of mankind had been reduced to 30% of the continent. Under these circumstances, the Rolemor Kingdom, Pakal Kingdom, Volkan Kingdom and Vitalis Kingdom decided to divide this area of influence into four sub-zones, each of which would be in charge of 8 Rank B Kingdoms and 3 Rank A Kingdoms. These four kingdoms were located in the center of the continent, around Amethyst City, which was previously the royal city of the Great Amethyst Empire, and which now served as the commercial heart and center of operations of The Circle.

For their part, the A-Rank Kingdoms mainly acted as the heart of the economic activity of their respective zones through the exploitation and refinement of raw materials, as well as being used in the power games of the four great kingdoms, which due to the agreements signed could only fight each other from the shadows.

Finally, the B-Rank Kingdoms made up the base of the power pyramid. Their function was simple: to serve as cannon fodder against the attacks of the Magical Beasts and the Dark Ones.

The inhabitants of these kingdoms were clearly the ones who were in the worst conditions. Most of the wealth they were able to accumulate had to be given as tribute to the kingdoms above them, while the rest was used almost entirely to finance the constant battles to defend the borders of the other factions that inhabited the Aurora Continent.

Three years ago, Luke had been conveniently taken to the outskirts of the Vitalis Kingdom, while his appearance was also considerably altered, proving how disgustingly lucky he was. The Vitalis Kingdom was located to the southwest, vertically opposite the Rolemor Kingdom, so those on the hunt for him would not think he was there due to the distance. Furthermore, the only person belonging from that kingdom who belonged to The Circle was Alexandra Vitalis, so the resources that could be employed in his search were limited.

Although the Volkan Kingdom, which was located to the east of the Vitalis Kingdom, was the place where he had the most acquaintances and treasures, which had also lost Akami, who was one of the two members of The Circle belonging to that kingdom, he quickly dismissed the idea of going over there.

With the power of The Circle, his friends were most likely under strict surveillance, which added to the strict monitoring at the borders, made trying to move from one of the four great kingdoms to another simply seducing death.

Although the pendant had modified his appearance so that his scarred face was now that of a relatively handsome person, his dark hair was now a dark blonde, and his characteristic purple eyes were now green, most importantly, he no longer had his Eighth Rank cultivation.

Carrying out an attack of such magnitude had meant giving up all the World Energy contained within his Core to the pendant. As a result, Luke lost all of his cultivation, and was now not different from a normal person in terms of power.

The Circle was using all its available resources to hunt him down, so he had no time to cultivate again. He had only one goal, to get away from the central parts of the continent and settle in a Rank B Kingdom where he could come up with a new plan.

With that goal in mind, it took Luke a full year to reach his destination: the Doira Kingdom. This was a Kingdom within the area of influence of the Vitalis Kingdom, with the particularity of having received a major attack coming from the Beast Mountain Range only 100 years ago. Therefore, it was a good bet that it would not receive such attacks anytime soon, making it an ideal kingdom for Luke to recover his cultivation.

Once he arrived at Doira Kingdom, Luke didn't even think of staying in the main cities, but instead headed for Ludwit City, which was located on the outskirts of the kingdom and often had to face attacks from Magical Beasts.

In Ludwit City, an old man had recently died. So, Luke took his house. In the end, could someone be considered a villain if he could not forge a document as simple as an inheritance?

Thus, two years passed until the present day. Luke had not bothered to change his name, since in his opinion doing so was giving up his essence.

Far from his plans, in which he would only spend some time in Ludwit City, Luke was now known to the other inhabitants as a notorious drunkard who wandered the streets begging for money while reeking of alcohol.

This certainly wasn't the future Luke had dreamed of. He obviously didn't want to act like a drunkard and tarnish his image, but there was a big issue.

Not only did the pendant made him lose all of his Eighth Rank cultivation, but it also put seals on his body that prevented him from cultivating....
