I Will Get Stronger Than Them All

By the time Jinhoo got home, his father was already home. Mr. Lee works at a construction company, he wasn't educated and has always felt guilty that his wife has to sacrifice so much for him. Mr. Lee has always been proud of his son for his intelligence, that's why Jinhoo never told them when he started having issues in school. When Jinhoo came back, his father was eating dinner so he decided to join him.

"How was your day dad?" Jinhoo asked and the man was shocked by the question. He turned to his wife and the beautiful woman simply shrugged while smiling warmly.

"Fine." Mr. Lee couldn't help but answer.

"Alright, don't overwork yourself." Jinhoo said to his father. Jinhoo knows how his parents ended and it was his father that died first. Mr. Lee died due to overworking himself, Mrs. Lee followed soon after since she was so in love with her husband that she never got over it.

"What about you, how was your day?" Mr. Lee asked.

"Well, I took a walk around the neighborhood. I discovered that it is therapeutical to walk without a clear destination in mind." Jinhoo developed this habit in the later years of his life and it helped him retain his sanity even when life was unfair to him.

"I would try that with your mother one day."

After dinner, the family stayed together and watched the news. This has always been how Mr. And Mrs. Lee spend their night, but Jinhoo decided to join them tonight. Jinhoo knew he wouldn't be doing it with them every night but for tonight, he wanted to enjoy their company. A part of Jinhoo is also afraid that this might actually be a dream and when he wakes up he would be in the hospital already paralyzed from the accident. Or perhaps it might just be a dream he is having at the moment of his death, and by the time he goes to sleep tonight, he would be facing real judgment.

"You can switch off the television when you are done, we are going to bed." Mr. Lee helped his wife up as they both left their son and enter their room.

Jinhoo was unable to sleep because of the fear of all these being a dream. Jinhoo fought sleep the whole night and only lost the fight when it was almost morning.

"Jinhoo." Mrs. Lee tapped her son to wake up. Jinhoo slept off where they left him last night, even when Mr. Lee left for work, Jinhoo didn't flinch even with all the noise Mr. Lee was making while opening the door.

"Jinhoo." She tapped him again and only this time did Jinhoo stir.

"Mom?" Jinhoo said as he opened his eyes and saw his mother staring down at him. Jinhoo felt happier today than he did yesterday, and the reason was that he finally accepted the fact that he was truly given a second chance.

"Your friends already left, you should take your shower and be ready for breakfast." Mrs. Lee said before leaving her son to go prepare breakfast. Jinhoo didn't hug her like he did yesterday since he knew it would make his mother question him again.

Jinhoo entered his room and took his bath, after bathing he came out and had his breakfast.

"I would be leaving to get the groceries for dinner. Remember to keep the key under the rug." Mrs. Lee instructed her son before leaving the house. Jinhoo only nodded when his mother was giving him the instruction even though he wasn't planning to leave the house today. After his mother left the house, Jinhoo went inside his room to think of the best way forward.

"He said I am not guaranteed to succeed in this life." Jinhoo recalled his conversation with the man that gave him the second chance. "I have no idea who you are but I am eternally grateful for the chance you have given me, I would be certain not to waste it." Jinhoo said his thanks to the old man.

"Now, what is the best way to succeed." He clasped his palm together as he started thinking of the best thing to do.

"Betting!" He exclaimed with excitement but the excitement left him when he realize that he doesn't have any knowledge of any future event.

"How odd." Jinhoo scratched his chin as nothing came to his memory no matter how hard he think. He only have the knowledge of his personal life, it was like someone used a filter to take away his knowledge of the world. He can't even remember future movies or music, he also couldn't remember anything that would help him make money. Jinhoo sigh sadly as he realize that even though he was given a second chance he doesn't have any advantage over anybody. Well, the only advantage he has is that he knows which of his classmates would later become someone great in the future, so his only hope is to become their friend and hope he succeeds with them.

"They all lived a life I wouldn't be able to live." They all became a gangster or corrupt officials. That's not a life I would want to live." Jinhoo erased the thought of getting closer to his friends.

"The only way to truly succeed in this country is to be a gangster, corrupt official, or you are from a wealthy family like Bella." Bella's father has a shipping company and that has been a generational business, their forefathers made the money before the country became so corrupt, and if not for the wealth and principles they have, they would have lost their wealth.

"The only remaining way to succeed is to become stronger than those gangsters, I would be strong enough to not be bullied by anybody." Jinhoo realized that some of the time he was bullied because he was weak not because he was poor. And most of the people that succeeded as gangsters were the strong ones.

"I will get stronger than them all." Jinhoo smiled as he finally made up his mind about where to start. "I will start with a hundred push up."

"FIRST TASK HAS BEEN REGISTERED, UPON COMPLETION OF THE TASK, 2 POINTS WOULD BE AWARDED." Jinhoo heard a voice in his head.
