Once Damien and Joanna got back home, they freshened up and went to bed almost immediately. They did not want to speak much on the incident that led up to that moment so that was the best possible thing they could do.

Just as they fell asleep cuddling each other, the numerous calls came. Unfortunately, Damien’s phone was placed on silent. The next morning came and since Damien was not on duty in his workplace he decided to make them a treat before they watched a movie.

“You work too hard, you know that right?” Joanna said, taking a piece of the snacks he had made

Damien smiled. “And who said so?” he asked

“I do, of course” she quickly said

“I don’t work too hard. I just work enough” Damien said as he took out two cups from the cabinet

“Look at this table” Joanna gestured for the snacks scattered all around. “This is a lot for someone who had just worked a nine to five five days in a roll” she said as she wrapped her hand around his waist, placing her head on his back
