Henry's voice shook the surroundings. They couldn't believe he would be this stupid. Mr. Dawson clapped with joy.

“So be it. As the eldest son of the Tucker family, your words are the same as your father's. The duel will take place in the Dawson training hall, and it is scheduled for five days from now. Is that agreeable?”

Henry nodded. He knew Mr. Dawson was after the land. There was nothing they could do anyway. Rather than give it up easily, he would fight for it.

Henry helped his father up.

“Dad, it's okay.”

Mr. Tucker inhaled deeply. He was only pretending to be dumb. He knew what Mr. Dawson wanted, but that land was meant for Lora’s treatment. He couldn't believe they lost it. They had failed Lora.

“You are awake.”

“Yes.”

Derek stepped toward them.

“Better start training, moron. I can't wait to kick your ass.”

Henry didn't listen to him. He helped Lora up and placed her back in her wheelchair.

She hadn't said anything since, and it hurt him.

They left immediately.

Mr. Dawson stared at Henry. He could feel a strange presence from the boy. Before, he looked like a normal human, but now he had the scent of a mage, and he had seen Derek attack earlier.

How come Derek's strike had no effect on him?

He stared at Derek. The boy had been slacking recently.

It was time he gave him some magical tools that would boost his levels. He must kill that scumbag in the duel.

Henry drove Lora home. His father was taking the lead, and he hadn't said anything since they left Mr. Dawson's mansion.

Henry moved faster to catch up with him.

“Dad, trust me. I know what that land is meant for. I won't let Derek win. I will win.”

Mr. Tucker forced a smile.

“I know you can. You just have to train harder than him.”

“I will do my best. I promise I won't let this family down.”

Mr. Tucker tapped Henry on his shoulder.

“I trust you.”

Even if Henry was at the same rank as Derek, there was no chance he would win.

The Dawson family was extremely rich. They could buy magical items that would speed up their son's leveling rate, and worst of all, magical jewelry, which not only boosted the holder's level but also increased stamina, reflexes, and strength.

Henry stood no chance against Derek.

He didn't blame him. There was no way to keep the land anyway, but he didn't want to see his son get humiliated.

Mr. Tucker stopped walking. His voice was calm and neutral.

“Henry. I am proud of you.”

He faced Henry.

“You are a good son.”

Mr. Tucker walked away after saying that. Even though Henry awakened the weakest rank in the world, he had never let what people said get to him. Instead, he fought for what he wanted.

He wished he had that kind of heart before, but it was not too late now. He must make sure Henry goes to the academy, and he would pay for Lora’s treatment.

Henry stared at his father. He wondered why he said those words, but they touched his heart gently. He held back his tears and vowed not to let Derek win. He must win the duel for his family's sake.

“It's okay, brother. I don't mind being like this forever. I am used to it anyway.”

“You won't be like this forever. Don't say that again. As soon as I become a mage, I am taking you to the best mage healer in Blue Terrain.”

“Hahaha, in the country?”

“Yes, so don't worry.”

“Okay, brother. I will wait.”

Henry took Lora home. He immediately went to their backyard to start his training.

He must level up his fire skills. He knew the resources Derek would be getting. He couldn't level up his class since he didn't have any magical items, nor had he killed any monsters.

The only thing he could level up now was his normal skills, which would require a lot of practice.

Henry believed that if he trained for five days straight, he could level up his skills to the point of firing many at once or using them continuously.

Currently, he had only one skill. Until he reached level two in class, he couldn't unlock more skills.

Henry inhaled deeply.

“Fire Magic: Cube.”

A mini cube of fire appeared in Henry's hand, then he threw it into the air.

“Explosion!”

The cube of fire exploded in the air, forming a bright, small circle of flames.

Henry's cheeks moved as he felt the pressure. He could see a drastic change in his magic. Before, it barely formed a circle. Now, it exploded a little.

Henry was excited by this. Skill power usually depended on the class of the mage. If it were Derek using his explosion skill, the impact would have been five to six times greater. However, he was happy his skill had improved.

He faced the wooden human figure in front of him.

“Explosion!”

Henry sent the cube flame toward the wooden figure.

It exploded on impact, but the flame vanished immediately. There was no damage except a little black smoke.

Henry gazed down in disappointment. He must do better.

He continued training until the next morning. Henry rested to have breakfast before starting again.

He wasn't going to give up. He would train for four days, then use the last day to prepare.

He was still practicing his skills when Jeremy dashed toward him.

“Henry…”

He couldn't finish his words. He was shivering with fear.

“What is it?”

Henry was worried by his attitude.

“The gold mine… a monster has appeared in the gold mine. Your dad is rumored to be there.”

Henry's heart skipped. He ran to the road immediately. His heart pounded as he moved toward the protective wall.

He couldn't believe his father had gone outside the protective wall.

The gold mine was rumored to be some distance away from the wall.

A few days ago, some bounty hunters entered the outside zone to hunt monsters. Monster crystals were used to create magical items and jewelry, so big companies paid bounty hunters to gather a certain number of crystals.

The bounty hunters consisted of high class mages. They were the only ones allowed outside the wall.

They spotted a gold mine and informed the military. The military would be coming to take control of the area in a few days.

Henry couldn't believe his father had used the secret passage to go there because he wanted to save his family from this disaster.

He reached the secret section of the wall and entered the password. Only high officials knew it. His father had been lucky to overhear it, yet he had always ridiculed anyone who dared go outside the wall.

Who would have thought he would be the one to go?

Henry's eyes were wet.

A portion of the wall opened like a door, and he entered quickly before anyone noticed. There were supposed to be guards there, but surprisingly, no one was present.

Henry passed through a tunnel before emerging on the other side of the wall.

His heart tightened as the air brushed against his clothes.

He was outside the protective wall for the first time, and anything could go wrong at any moment. The biggest problem was t

hat he didn't even know where the gold mine was located.

Henry stepped forward, and a screen appeared in front of him.
