Dear loyal readers, what team are you? Team Grey and Avery or Team Novia and Grey. Share your thoughts.
Giovanni banged his table angrily as he thought about it. He had been deceived by Grey several times. The fact that Grey was as young as his son, yet he could deceive him so much amazed him.He wasn't even ready to think about what would happen after the news got out about Alex's escape. He would need to go through several proceedings to prove himself and escape punishment or the disgrace would be too much for him to handle."So, Alex ran away?" He muttered."Yes, boss. The police looked for him everywhere but they couldn't find him before they left. In fact, after they left, we tried to look for him too but we discovered he wasn't even in the house. One of the cars went missing as well.""Well, one of the security guards said they saw him drive out."Giovanni looked away, as a flash of anger passed through him. "There's only a way out for us both. You have to look for Alex. We have to be the one to deliver him to the police before it gets broadcasted and before it looks like I had pl
“Boss!” a man yelled from afar and several men rushed towards Alex. “We have to leave now boss. We really have to. The police are coming here.”Alex stared at Avery for a moment and aimed to shoot again. But this time, Avery was really fully all over him. There was no way Alex would be able to kill Grey. But that was exactly what he wanted. He didn't expect Avery to even come in. And he wasn't even sure who he shot.“Boss, your father wants us to bring you over,” one of the men said urgently as they started to drag him away.Alex shook his head briefly and instead, aimed the gun at Grey’s leg. He pulled the trigger and a groan erupted before he was eventually pulled away.Actually, the men didn't have the time to cross-check who was with Avery. Maybe they would have allowed Alex to kill one of their boss’ nemesis before they pull him away. For a few minutes, after Alex had left, Grey couldn't move. For once in his life, he felt like an idiot. He walked into Alex's trap without a back
The ambulance arrived at the hospital in a few minutes and while Avery was ushered into the operating room, Grey was led towards another. "We need Doctor Jason now!" One of the nurses yelled. Grey could only watch as he was pulled towards the room. He glanced back, looking at Avery for the last time. His heart ached so much. And he was in for revenge. His mind was made up already. He just needed to get the leg taken care of. He had decided to infiltrate Giovanni's base, no matter what. Soon enough, the doctor walked inside with two nurses. One of the nurses moved towards Grey with a syringe filled with anaesthesia. "No! Don't use that on me. I don't want it," Grey protested, calmly. The nurse looked at the doctor for answers and confirmation. "Mr?" "Grey." "Ok," the doctor nodded briefly. "This injection contains a dose of anaesthesia. And it's important so that you won't feel the pain while we remove the bullet," he explained. "I'm aware." The doctor was shocked. "And you
The men parted slowly, leaving a space for Hercules to drive through.Grey regarded them for a moment. "Good!" He muttered and walked to his car.He got inside and started the ignition. He looked up and realised that Gregory was standing in front of the car.He watched him for another moment before he pressed the accelerator so that the car would move very fast and make Gregory leave.Gregory was instead very determined. Grey realised he was going to kill him and veered from the direction very fast, almost losing control.Grey jerked forward and hit his head on the steering. He hesitated for a few minutes, as the pain in his head collided with the one in his leg and his heart to make him feel very miserable. For a moment, he didn't know what he was supposed to do. The pain in his heart had all gathered and beget anger. The only thing he wanted to do at that moment was kill Giovanni. It was the only way to heal. He couldn't even think clearly. He felt so hurt inside."Grey!" Alfred cal
"Where can Jimmy be?" Charles questioned. "Or could he have betrayed you?"Grey reasoned it for a moment. "I doubt it. It can't be. Jimmy will not betray me."Charles sighed. "You can never be sure of that. Perhaps, he was the cause of what had happened to Aphrodite.""He's not, Charles. I've seen the camera. Jimmy didn't even enter the building.""Alright, so where can he be?""He's obviously with Giovanni. If he is, then damn!" He released a sigh. "I have to get him back.""You will not, Grey. You will let him be. He's gone for good.""No, Charles. I have to get him back. He's one of my men now. So, I have to protect him.""But boss, you can't enter Hercules's base now. It's very dangerous.""Not today, Charles. I will think of something. Call me when Aphrodite wakes up.""Alright boss. Are you really alright?"Grey released a sigh. "I'm fine. I will talk to you later," he finished and hung up.Then, he remembered what he had promised Alfred at the party. He was going to think about
Maria sensed the stiffness in the air when she entered the company. The workers all dispersed but it actually looked like they were murmuring about something in secret.Maria ignored them and walked into the restroom. A few minutes later, she heard several footsteps moving closer. They seemed to have stopped in front of the mirror fastened to the wall."What was that all about?" A feminine voice said suddenly."Sincerely? I have no idea. I mean how could that have happened?" A different voice seemed to lament."I can't believe it actually," there was a hesitation. "Do you think I've met him as well? And perhaps I've spoken badly to him.""Yes, perhaps you are going to lose your job soon. You did know that you have a loose mouth.""Oh my!" There was a soft exclamation. "But come to think of it, we should be able to discover who the person really is. I mean the news did say it was Grey Fox. We just needed to find the Grey Fox that works in this company. It shouldn't be that hard," the
"We are leaving immediately! Find a way to distract them so that I can safely escape," Grey ordered. The man nodded and walked out.Grey looked at the unconscious Avery. Maybe he was selfish but he didn't even reason calling her parent over. His phone rang suddenly. It was Maria.Grey got off the bed and took his shirt. He walked out of the room before he picked up the call."Hello boss," Maria's voice boomed from the other line.Just as Grey moved to his right side, Avery's parents and one of Grey's men walked past him, towards Avery's room. It turned out that the man intentionally misled them into going elsewhere."Is everything alright, Maria? How is the public taking the news?" He inquired, as he managed to wear his shirt."Well, I have a bad news."Grey hesitated before he entered the elevator. There was no one in the elevator with him. "Did something happen? The public didn't accept the explanation?""No, boss. That's not the case. Someone published something about you, an hou
She blinked once, then twice. She heard everything actually, the fact that Grey has a soft spot for his ex-wife and well, for Caramel.Well, she knew that Grey didn't leave Caramel willingly. If Caramel wasn't so unbending, Grey wouldn't let her go.But Aphrodite didn't mind. Grey was Hercules. In fact, it was normal for mafia bosses to have a lot of women. There was nothing bad about it. In fact, she wasn't going to be mad if Grey ends up dating all three of them, as long as he doesn't stop loving her. She was only concerned about staying with Grey. It was either Grey or no one.The thing was that Grey was different."What do you mean? Avery might die?"Grey sighed. " Sincerely, I'm so scared. I will never forgive myself if something happened to her. It was my fault that she got shot. And damn, it was in the head."Charles released an exasperated sigh. "She passed the difficult stage already, let's hope she gets better."Grey regarded him for a moment. "She hasn't. The doctor said s
Avery woke up with a scream. Her head was still banging but she wasn't in the airport anymore. She held onto her temple for a moment. The door opened suddenly and Emily walked inside.“Avery!” She called, with worries written all over her face. “What happened? Are you alright?”Her eyes were shut tightly. “Headache,” she whispered.Emily rushed out of the room suddenly. She rushed inside almost immediately but was accompanied by some doctors.Avery felt a stab of the syringe and suddenly, the pain started to ebb away.“Avery! Are you alright?”Avery opened her eyes and looked at her mother. “Mom, where is Grey?”Emily hesitated briefly. “What about the headache?” She asked instead.Avery looked at the doctor, ignoring her mother's question. “Grey was brought in here, right? The VP of Protos Pubblicita. Where is he? How is he?”One of the doctors regarded her for a moment, then looked at Emily. “Are they_”“He's my husband!” Avery said quickly. “If he's here, I demand to know how he's
“Grey!” Avery yelled again, in despair and pain. The phone dropped from her hand but she barely noticed. She couldn't believe what she had seen. She was actually thinking of surprising Grey by coming to the airport. But since Grey didn't want to see her, she was going to leave. Just seeing him from afar was enough for her.Avery raced closer. Her heart was pounding madly in her chest. “Grey!” She yelled again and felt the tears slide down her cheeks. Then she saw some images flash across her eyes. She saw herself standing beside a car with Grey.A serious headache hit in and he held onto her head a bit to stop the pain. But it worsened.Avery couldn't move as several images flashed across her eyes. The pain in her head got worse. She yelled, much in sadness than in pain. Grey was slipping off her hands and instead of helping, she could not.But it felt like she was starting to remember everything. She was starting to remember everything about Grey.“You ruined my life!” Avery saw her
Avery didn't believe it, couldn't have imagined it. Grey was a nice person. How could he have treated him badly? She felt a purge of sadness. She closed her eyes for a moment and shed unseen tears.“Sean, I need to meet you alone,” she muttered and walked away.Emily and Benjamin stared at her for a moment, confused.Emily turned to look at Sean. “And what are you doing here?” She yelled at him, anger vivid on her face.Sean looked down in guilt. “I'm so sorry. I really am. That's why I'm here. Please,” he beseeched softly and looked up at her again. “That's why I'm here. I really need everyone's forgiveness. I really hope you can forgive me. I've learned my lesson,” he rushed out with a solemn expression.“You_” Emily started but Benjamin cut in quickly.“It's ok,” Ben muttered. “You should go and see Avery. When you guys are done talking, you should see me before you leave.”Sean bowed slightly, with a slight smile on his face. He hurried towards the direction that Avery had gone.He
Avery couldn't stop thinking about all Grey had told her. She still found it hard to believe. How was she married and they weren't intimate?Does it mean she forced him to marry her? But then she wondered why she would do such a thing. She took her phone and placed a call to Sean.He picked it up immediately. “Hi, sister.”“I'm on the way home. So, come over. I won’t wait too much for you,” she finished and hung up immediately. The car pulled into the garage and Avery got down before the engine of the car would even stop. She walked inside the living room.“Ben, have you_” Emily started but stopped suddenly when she saw Avery. Her eyes widened with shock. “Avery!” Joy exploded in her eyes.Avery managed a smile and met her mother midway. They hugged.“Where have you been all these while? Why did you decide to stay away from us all this while?” She sobbed quietly.“I'm sorry,” Avery responded and pulled back to look at her mother fully. “I just need to get myself back. Besides, there a
Avery stood in front of the mirror, with two dresses. She was indecisive about the one to wear. She just freshened up and the only thing she could think of was to go back to the hospital because of Grey. She just wanted to be with him. She didn't want to think of anything else. She eventually decided on the black one, deciding it was a bad idea to be overly dressed when she was in fact going to the hospital. She dabbed some perfumes on herself and eventually walked out of the house. She got inside the car and drove right to a restaurant nearby. She thought of getting Hercules some cakes. Her phone rang suddenly as she walked back to the car. She hesitated briefly, as she took a while to find her. The phone had stopped ringing when she finally found it.She was about to check the caller ID when the phone started ringing again. It was an unknown caller. She hesitated again and contemplated on whether to pick it up or not.She eventually decided to.“Hello?”“Hello, sis!” A familiar de
Charles looked at Grey, still shocked. “Don't tell me you will team up with this good-for-nothing guy? You know he's not to be trusted!”Grey nodded once and looked at him. “I know but you do trust me, right? Just trust me.”Charles regarded him for a moment and slowly released a sigh. “Alright then.”Grey looked at Dylan. “But this teamwork will not work if we don't have the evidence we can pin Giovanni down with,” he explained.“Well, Giovanni is supposed to die, and not be jailed for killing your father.”“Well, I won't need the evidence after Giovanni dies. So, this deal will be useless for me. Besides, Giovanni will not live after killing my father. Don't think I plan on sparing his life.”Dylan laughed. “I like that! I sincerely do!” He muttered, dipped his hand into his pocket, and pulled out a phone. “It's here, everything on the watch,” he revealed, placed it on the bed beside Grey, and smiled slightly. “I will be in Jacksonville soon. We will talk then,” he finished, got up,
“Well, let him come,” Grey decided and looked at Avery. “I'm done with the food. Thank you, I really appreciate it,” he said with a smile.Avery nodded once and packed the lunch boxes. “I will leave then so that you and Dylan can speak.”Grey nodded. “Alright. Take care of yourself.”Avery smiled slightly and walked out eventually.Charles turned to Grey. “I will kill him today if he tries to act sneaky!” He swore.Grey smiled slightly. “Just calm down and let's hear him first.”Charles groaned inwardly and pulled a chair for himself to sit. “I'm seriously going to kill him!” He promised.Grey laughed and his phone made a beep. It was a message from Avery. He read through and looked at Charles.“Dylan is here,” he announced.Charles nodded several times as if it was taking every ounce of his strength to keep calm.A soft knock sounded on the door. The door opened almost immediately and Dylan pushed his head inside, a wide smile on his face.“Hi everyone!” He said with sarcasm.“You be
“Are you sure?” Grey nodded once, with a soft smile. “Yes, I am. I will handle him. So, you just stay calm,” he responded and dialed Charles's number.Avery nodded once. “I will call him back then.”Grey nodded again. “But tell him I would like to choose the venue. If he's not agreeing with that, then I won't see him,” he muttered and looked at the phone screen only to discover Charles had picked it up.“Hi Charles,” he said into the receiver and relaxed back on the bed.“Grey, where have you been?”“Well,” he smiled softly. He would have never thought he was going to get so sick. He hadn't gotten so sick in a long time that it felt like he was immortal, immune.“I got sick Charles. In fact, I'm currently at the hospital.”“Damn! Send me the address. I will be there now,” he assured and the line went off.Grey looked at Avery and caught her staring. He smiled. “What did the doctor say is wrong with me?”“Well, I will tell you that while you eat. You haven't eaten since morning.”Grey
Consciousness returned to Grey slowly and his gaze searched around.Where was he?A slight headache hit in. He groaned and reached for his head.“Are you alright?” A soft voice asked suddenly. He looked up at a pair of brown eyes. Wait, a nurse?“Yes, just a slight headache,” he responded. The nurse smiled down at him. “You will be fine with this,” she assured and raised a syringe. She regarded him for another moment before she injected him.Grey didn't flinch. It was as if nothing penetrated him. Well, a lot had penetrated him before. What more could a syringe do?“Wow, I'm impressed,” the nurse smiled.Grey didn't really remember anything. In fact, the headache was making it difficult for him. But then, the pain ebbed away slowly as the nurse had said.“Where am I?” He said and groaned inwardly. “I know this is a hospital. I'm sorry for that stupid question.”The nurse laughed. He did as well. “I mean how did I get here?”“Well, your girlfriend brought us here. She stepped out a few
