A knock on the door pulled Felix from his thoughts. Felix swiveled in his leather chair, the wheels squeaking against the hardwood floor.

A woman peering in with curly dark hair framing her face stood at the doorway. Lines by her eyes showed that she was in her late thirties but that didn't dull her friendly smile.

"May I come in?" she asked in a pleasant tone. Felix nodded and she walked inside, closing the door behind her.

"My name is Charlotte. I've been your father's personal assistant for many years now." Charlotte smoothed her ivory suit jacket and extended her hand. "It seems I'll be helping you for a while as well."
