The same tranquil atmosphere and night, a scene Wei Long had gotten used to after a few years of night shift. His partner, Cai Mo, was across from him, reorganizing the cards on the table as he yawned. The dozens of monitors on their side were ignored, functioning on their lonesome for in the history of this building, almost no one would dare to make a mess or trespass illegally.
There were hardly any valuable properties for those who wanted to barge in. Not to mention, this was the nest of ready-battle veterans with an armory full of weapons to boot. Not to mention the supers stationed in this place, watching like hawks and crouching in the dark like a hunting cheetah.
A suicidal mission, that what it was.
Although this place indeed held all of the important documents that might even be priceless if you knew their value, raiding this place was nonsensical.
Something Wei Long would have to rethink for the very first time, a loud noise blaring out. Surprising the hell out of him and his partner as they scrambled to check what had happened.
It was a signal from the Guardian responsible for tonight's security. Messages of multiple intruders had infiltrated the building shocked both of them silly. Not to mention, the Guardian said they were all ordinary citizens, none of the detection devices showed that they were supers.
"What's going on!?" Wei Long cried out, rushing to the monitors and watched how a group of men holding makeshift weapons like crowbars, iron pipes, and so on broke through the main doors of the building, where they would be greeted with the officers in the area and their stun guns.
On the other hand, a young man and woman, who looked no older than in their early twenties, were burning the cars parked in front. On their hand were alcohol bottles and a match as they ran around with the widest grin on their faces.
The sight makes no sense to Wei Long and in his trance, a figure flashed before them and stopped on their track. It was a Guardian who specialized in combat. As Wei Long was about to glue his eyes on the screen, another message appeared once more.
It told him that there was another intruder who managed to sneak into the premises, sneaking amidst the chaos and one of the guardians had been dispatched to the place.

As he slowly put down a man in a police uniform, Yunzheng rummaged through his body and finally found a card with the man's name and picture. Everything went well, just like what he had planned. Except for the fact that things now use automatic logs, where one has to swipe with an identity card, Yunzheng managed to come to the hallways with many rooms on the sides.
Fortunately, he stumbled upon a long officer who was on his way to the main entrance after a short briefing of how the situation had unfolded. A simple hypnotizing technique and the man spilled all the beans and if there's no tomorrow. With an explained layout of the facility in his head, Yunzheng now knew where to go.
It wouldn't take him long, just a jiffy with new-found strength. Brimming with energy, he crossed tens of meters every step. If not for the turns, he would have already arrived at his destination by now.
And when he was about to get into his sixth turn, someone stood in the middle of the hallway. The garments were easy going, only a sweater on top, T-shirt, and brown shorts. Something you would wear in your own house, an out of place sight when everyone was wearing uniforms.
It made Yunzheng skit to a halt and observe that man carefully. His senses already nagged at him, telling him that the person was anything but ordinary and Yunzheng knew better than to ignore his instinct.
A clean, fast strike. That was what he aimed for and Yunzheng moved before the other party could even open his mouth. Palm stretched out and energy was gathering into it. Everything around him slowed down considerably and he could see that he was much faster than before. Yet, his hand connected to empty air as his opponent stepped to the side with widened eyes.
"The hell! So you are a sup-"
Not waiting for the man to finish his speech, Yunzheng followed up with another strike. This time, he guided his energy and properly used a technique. Giving his opponent a surprise for he unleashes five blows faster than what he could react.
Reeling in pain and disbelief, the man stepped backwards and hit the wall. All of his limbs went numb and the spots Yunzheng struck were aching greatly. When the man glanced at Yunzheng, the latter was already rushed to deliver the final blow. One that would be nonlethal but taking away the opponent's consciousness.
Yunzheng's fist which almost reached the man's nose, suddenly halted midair and trembled nonstop. Yunzheng himself tried to move his body but felt invisible chains binding all of his joints and stripping his strength away. As he wondered in shock, a voice echoed to both of their minds.
"I thought my power was playing tricks on me. However, it was good to make sure of things yourself."
The man wearing sweaters turned his head and saw the approaching figure in the distance, who wore a purple suit and green necktie. A mask of half black and white was strapped on his face as he arrived at Yunzheng's side.
"There's no trace of psionic energy on you. Yet, you almost knocked Bei Wu off of his rockers. Ain't you a real sight?" the person chuckled, reaching out his hand and placing it on Yunzheng's head. Before long, Yunzheng felt something entering his mind. Numbing his senses whilst his vision faded and the person's voice drifted at the edge of his ears.
"Relax… it will all be over soon."
When he woke up from the deep slumber, he shielded his eyes as bright light blinded his vision until he blinked a few more times. Adjusting his senses to the surroundings, he found himself laid on a cold floor and an almost empty room with only a single bucket could be spotted on one of the edges. One side of the walls was clear glass, where he sighted a man in uniform who sat on a chair while he fiddled with his exwatch. Oblivious to Yunzheng's state for his attention wholly focused on another thing and beside him, a table with a few sorts of things such as a plate of piled chips, cards, a glass that held what seemed to be half filled coffee, and a paper. Yunzheng rubbed his glabella and let out a soft groan when the circumstances finally sunken into his mind. He got captured, that much was obvious but what vexed him would be how he couldn't even guard against whatever skill that man with a mask thrown at him. Just in time, something rang within his head and a translucent blue scre
A bizarre sight even for Yunzheng as he saw the moving smoke coming from Gilbert and entered through the orifices of a full grown man. As if he couldn't breathe, the man held his neck, choking and his eyes bulged out until at last, he slumped to the ground. Eyes rolled backwards while Gilbert landed with a hop. [A Side Task has Appeared!] [Side Task : Escape the building with Gilbert's help in less than an hour! Rewards : Gilbert's level +5Failure : Suspend Gilbert for a few weeks.]Skimming through the notification, another shout ensued. This time, it sounded familiar and when Yunzheng glanced at the direction of the voice, there was a struggle between a full grown man and a cat which he couldn't touch. "You cannot be so rough to the soon-to-be noble, nya!"With its feet materialized out of the drifting smoke, Gilbert clawed the man's mask and knocked it away. The scarred feature had been displayed for the world to see and the man tried to cover his face with his hand. Still, th
It has always been a bad day for Chen Yue. Things in life have never been brightening up for her and at times, her hard work pays nothing. Sometimes, she would be assigned to a task which nobody wanted to get and most of the time, things went awry outside of her control. "So, how many people get injured, exactly?"When she said those words, she could feel her stomach churning and threatened her last lunch to get out of her system. As she walked beside her colleague, who flipped the stacked reports on his hand while they were both walking through the wrecked hallways filled with cracks and holes, the man finally replied. "Fifteen heavy injuries, twenty six minor injuries and light concussions, but there's four deaths of which two of them were Guardians, ma'am."The scene of a bellied pot, balding short man yelling at her face had appeared instantly in her mind. The day was when her team scheduled to watch over the newest troublemaker with abilities undetected by any sort of machines
While Yunzheng rode the wind in his wake, many kinds of thoughts raced in his head and some of them were just as he had expected. Recalling the brief moment he had when browsing through the document of his family back then, there was another piece of information that stated he was among the deceased. The official statement said how his entire body was devoured by Hofgast, the name of the gigantic monster back then which devastated a group of soldiers with ease. Information they gathered from some random witnesses on the scene and not to mention he was missing for all this time, it wasn't wrong for the government to declare him dead. That gave birth to a question which he was dying to know of. Whose body he was using right now? Through the reflection of glass that he had seen before, his face definitely looked like him, same height and same birthmark, a little mole right on his neck. Granted that his body was a little sluggish now than before, but that was because his body hadn't reta
As the sun slowly set from afar, Yunzheng enjoyed the strong breeze of autumn whilst he munched upon a half eaten hot dog in his hand and a bunch of food inside a plastic bag beside him. Both of his feet dangle on top of one of the skyscrapers, watching the bustling crowd and passing vehicles below."Master, this one found the nest of some thugs distance from this place."Gilbert's voice rang behind him, reminding him that he wasn't alone in his 'homeless venture'. After the disappearance of the cat, Yuzheng managed to steal another Exwatch which had a password in effect, making him unable to use it in the slightest and leaving it back at the entrance of the cafe. Still with no money and no place to call home, Yunzheng let out an almost inaudible sigh before he rose and turned to face Gilbert. Gilbert's small stature and twitching ears birth curiosity of his backstory along with the urge to pat the cute head. Still, he dispelled those thoughts instantly, focusing on the matter at han
When the cloud of dust scattered around, Yunzheng rushed with a palm open wide. Before the boy could react, the strike hit him right on his neck as he subconsciously choked in response before Yunzheng went to execute a few sets of punching moves in a single breath. Each strike felt like a hammer, which made the boy both confused and bewildered, seeing how his gigantic state should lessen the strength behind the impact. Unable to keep up with Yunzheng's pace, the boy threw a wide sweep of his hand in hope to bash through his foe. Unfortunately, Yunzheng easily ducked and then leapt to grab his opponent's neck. In a blink of an eye, a surge of life force flowed from the boy to Yunzheng, causing the former to return to his normal form as he struggled free of the iron grip. In a short amount of time, the abundant and boundless strength seeped away from his limbs and the boy felt deep despair within. Before his arms could fall in weakness, Yunzheng took back his hand. Sparing the life o
When the sunlight touched upon the wrecked room, Yunzheng had been stirred from his slumber and the corner. Despite the overwhelmingly energy coursing through his body, a sense of weariness which hammering on his head caused him to fail to find his strength. In a few attempts, he rose to his feet, indulging at the scene of havoc which he caused during the whole night. With a little twist to his neck, it cracked and he relaxed the stiffened joints before a drifting smoke found its way before him, reshaping itself into a black cat who stared at him in the same gaze of someone who didn't notice nor care about the scattered pieces around them. "Good morning, master. This one wanted to tell you that perhaps, your outburst last night had attracted some unwanted curiosity."In his frown, Yunzheng was about to probe further but Gilbert displayed his opened paw and conjured surging smokes that formed small figurines and the surrounding environment. There, some passing guests had sent their gl
As the drifting putrid stench filled the dimly lit alley, a shadow flashed before a tiny squeak was uttered. The little creature tiptoed carefully in its stride, eyes wary of the surroundings but still fixated upon a half chewed piece of ham in the middle of a muddy puddle. Before it could grab its prey, a series of footsteps echoed, bringing its ears to twitch as it realized the sounds became closer in rapid speed. Soon enough, a figure way bigger than it was rushing forward, stomping at the puddle and scurrying away the critter. The figure gritted his teeth and sweats drenched the black shirt veiled by his fake, cheap leather jacket he found in some rundown shop. One of his eyes was swelling and he felt the pain and aches coming all over his body in this marathon. Still, he kept running, didn't turn his head even once, and tried to regulate his breath and posture, so he could run a little bit longer. His sprint led him to a crossroads to which he finally stopped and felt his eyes
