Fate Has Planned Everything

“Hemm… what a very beautiful sight!” Zerlan was completely mesmerized by the appearance of a large mountain in front of his eyes, the mountain gave a million beauties.

The air in the morning is cool with the sun so soft the situation is perfect for doing exercises.

Zerlan intends to take military training so that he can become a great general in the future. Before that, he had to train his body, it would be funny if he took part in the selection, his body didn't have muscles or looked emaciated, especially since the initial selection usually tests all physical strength.

If not prepared, Zerlan will surely fail. Zerlan has been training for the last five years, now he is 22 years old.

His body was filled with strong muscles, but muscles alone would not be enough to give him the ability to face the upcoming obstacles. There were many enemies who had great strength, and he was just ant trying to climb a mountain.

“Huh…!” Zerlan sighed when he realized that he was still an ordinary human who did not have great abilities. His determination and ambition continue to uphold him to go in the direction that has been set.

***

After a tiring morning of training, Zerlan came down from the mountain to return home. The village where Zerlan lived was located near a large mountain.

There are three mountains that become a natural fortress. It was difficult for outsiders to find the village.

The terrain is so steep with the road is inhabited by beasts. People have to think twice before getting in there, but this also applies to the village people having to be careful when going out.

Around the village there are a lot of ferocious monsters that could attack them. Without any abilities they will only become food for the monsters, but there are also those who manage to leave the village and become an adventurer or royal warrior.

Zerlan thought that living only in a hidden village environment was quite boring. So that he intends to become a knight who sails the world or becomes a knight who defends the truth in a kingdom, whatever it is that he clearly wants to be a formidable knight.

Zerlan was smiling to himself, as he walked down the mountain. The uneven terrain and too steep could make him fall and make his head covered in blood, but for Zerlan, who practiced almost every day, it was not a problem.

Krsk!!!

In the middle of the road Zerlan was startled by a strange sound. The sound came from the bushes in the forest. He was on alert, maybe it was a beast or a monster intent on harming him.

The eyes narrowed with the position of the feet that were ready to give a kick.

"Tugs!"

It turned out that the voice came from the figure of a man dressed white who suddenly appeared. The man's face was so pale.

"Thankfully!" After saying that, the man fell unconscious.

Zerlan was feeling confused, he quickly approached the man. He wondered what had happened to the man.

"Oi!" Zerlan tried to check his condition, whether the man was still breathing or not. He put ear to old man chest. "Uh!" Zerlan could still hear his heartbeat very clearly, but his voice was very small.

Zerlan realized that it was a sign that the man was not okay. Immediately he carried the man back to his house.

***

Due to the burden that Zerlan carried, he had to travel quite a long time, it took him about 1 hour to return to his house.

Despite having to struggle to carry the man, Zerlan did not regret his actions. He thought that all of this was just practice, so he could be stronger in the future.

After arriving at the house Zerlan immediately laid the old man on a bed which was only covered by a mat. The extremely rough texture wouldn't feel comfortable on the body, but that was all Zerlan have, he just lived in a small hut on the edge of the village.

"What's wrong with this old man?" Zerlan pensively stared at the wrinkled face of the old man with a long white beard.

"Ugh!"

Suddenly the man's eyes opened. Withered eyes began to look around, only the shabby hut became his resting place. He then looked at the man who was beside him.

"Where am I?"

“You are now in Vofuri village! As you can see, you are currently in a very simple place!” Zerlan spat out cold words, it had become his style of speech. Many people think they are just poor man. Surely the old man would feel disgusted if he had to meet a villager like him.

“Why are you speaking in a tone as if I would insult this place of yours!” Seeing Zerlan's unfriendly attitude, the old man was amazed.

“Huh… old man… let me tell you! I'm just a poor man living in a small village. Every day there is nothing that I can be proud of, just surviving is very tiring for me. If the old man doesn't like it, the old man can leave here!”

“Eh… why do you seem to be kicking me out now!”

“Huh…!” Zerlan didn't realize that the way he spoke seemed very complicated to digest.

"Young man, I'm not here to insult your home or private life, I'm really grateful. Because you, I was able to escape death." The old man said in a completely honest tone. A faint smile appeared on his already wrinkled mouth, adding to the impression of truth in his words.

"All right! What really happened?"

"Arrgh!" Suddenly the old man groaned in pain. When he moved a little there was blood on his waist, the blood was covered by his robe which was already full of red.

Zerlan was shocked. He did not realize that the old man had received a fairly large wound. “Oi… you seem to be hurt!” Zerlan quickly stood up and looked for some plants in the room that were usually used to treat wounds on his body.

"You don't have to be bothered!" The old man felt guilty for making Zerlan busy.

Zerlan removed the cloth covering the old man's body. Very make Zerlan's surprise the old man's wound was a big cut.

Blood was still flowing profusely, it was clear torn skin that penetrated deep into the flesh.

The man's clothes were already filled with a fishy smell that stung Zerlan's nose. "What happened to you! Were you attacked by monsters?”

“Hehehe… there was a bit of an accident!”

Zerlan looked at the old man's with eyes very seriously, he felt suspicious that the man's words were just a lie.

"What is wrong?" The old man, was surprised by the look in Zerlan's eyes.

"No, I'm just a little suspicious that you're hiding something, but it's none of my business to find out!" Zerlan have very good intuition, he is able to distinguish between people who are telling the truth or a lie, but this is just an intuition that doesn't necessarily have the truth.
