"Just this morning, a lifeless body was found lying within the soils of our land, right in the centre of the newly built Twillightoria Passersway. The police examined the body which at first glance struck the pose of a mutant. But not just any mutant, the budding hope of the new age, the only sign of light which had come in the form of darkness, our breathe of life in the smoke of science eruptions. Unfortunately, the celebrity mutant, our celebrity mutant Shadow Man, has passed away to an unknown cause."

As the voice of the news journalist emitted from the screen of the tablet, I saw Ariana's eyes grow into two larger balls, riddled with shock and distress.

"No..." I could hear her quivering whispers. I could feel her shattering heartbeat. I could see her blistering face, almost shedding with tears.

"His death come as a shock to the entire city of Twillightoria, and to the world at large. Even though there are some who do not like Shadow Man, all of us can agree that if there was eve

"Should I go back?" I asked myself. "Or should I go forward and talk to her??"All my time in school, I had always watched Ariana from afar, trying to somehow get her attention. I followed her halfway from school each day just to make sure she was safe from the deeds of evil mutants. But now she was right in front of me, and I could not bring myself to walk forward and speak. Not that I was scared or shy or anything like that, it was just that there had not been enough time for us to get to know each other. I mean, it had only been a few years... Regardless, I was ready to speak to her today. Afterall we were both skipping classes and we were both missing my second identity, Shadow Man."Okay, Jude. You can do this..."I walked forward briskly. She had not noticed me yet. Just a few more steps."No... I should not do this..."She was probably still in pain about what happened to Shadow Man. I should just leave her to get over it.I turned around."He is the only reason I am still ali

He defended his theft immediately, almost as if he had been preparing for my confrontation."And that's because I left it there where you found it.""That

Despite the sinister records of each one of my adversaries, Pedro Don Piero was not in the same bracket. The mutant control officer was just exactly as they called him, a mutant expert. On his sleeves were several tricks. Every time I thought I was getting the upper hand, he would come up with something sinister, something tech like which prevented me from using my abilities to the maximum. He was just human, but with the weapons he had access to, a mutant was no huge threat."You! It is my destiny to arrest you!" Piero screamed at intervals as I tried to maintain my sanity. All the weapons were stored in his briefcase. And no matter how many times he took out something from there, the case was ne

Someone was wearing a hoodie, just there by the huge tree. They knew I could see them. They were starting to turn away."Follow..." The both of us bolted off, leaving Denise in confusion as she continued slowly on her way into class. The fellow was getting away, I had to increase my speed. Maybe a little bit of shadow power would do. Something so light Dylan wouldn't detect, but just enough to catch up with this person.I got ready to implement my shadowy flair. I hadn't used it since the night before. "Three... Two... One.."My counting was cut short as I fell on my back. The person I collided with was a tall man in suit, quite unfriendly. He said,

That was so fast!" My eyes dazzled. There was not much I could do, my powers were absent. Ashley set to work instead, pointing towards them with that thing she took from the bike."What's that?" I whispered."That man isn't the only person with an Okasaki..." She smriked, pulling a trigger. It beeped twice, flashing in blue. Something shot out towards the struggling duo. I was no longer in the form of Shadow Man, but Jude Rutherford. My eyes met with Ashley's, alert and invoked."The Okasaki took away your powers for a while. It made you weak. You need some time to recover and use them again. Thank God you got us out of there on time, unless we would have been done for."That was it? She was not going to talk about my identity?
