Face to Face

The chamber was dimly lit, with flickering torches casting eerie shadows on the stone walls. The air was thick with tension, the silence almost unbearable. Adrian stood at the entrance, eyes locked on Victor, who lounged casually on a grand chair at the heart of his lair. The standoff was palpable, the stakes impossibly high.

Victor's lips curled into a sneer. "So, you finally made it. I was beginning to think you'd lost your nerve."

Adrian's fists clenched at his sides. "This ends tonight, Victor."

Victor chuckled, the sound echoing off the walls. "You're brave, I'll give you that. Foolish, but brave." He rose from his chair, slowly, deliberately, his gaze never leaving Adrian's. "Do you really think you can stop me? You don't even know the full extent of your own past."

Adrian's jaw tightened. "Don't pretend you know anything about me."

"Oh, but I do," Victor said, his voice dripping with malice. "I know more than you could possibly imagine." He
