Rachel glared at Shawn. Her breathing stopped after that sentence came out of Shawn's mouth. The word 'pregnant' was like a bolt of lightning that struck Rachel's parents in the head. Instantly, they couldn't think of anything, and time seemed to stop.

Rachel's mother, Verena, felt her heart racing. She wanted to deny the fact, but seeing Shawn convinced like that made her furious.

Verena glanced angrily at Rachel and snapped at the girl, "Rachel! What is this all about?"

Rachel seemed to be panicking, so her face was red. "Mom, it's not what you think."

Shawn added, "Rachel is now pregnant with my child. We love each other, Mother. That's why we have to get married and raise this baby."

Rachel's heart was getting out of whack. Shawn exaggerated the situation. She hasn't told her mom and dad anything about the pregnancy. Telling them in this state would shake them up.

Rachel did ask Shawn to be her husband, but what he was doing now was crossing the line.
