Chapter 35

It was Friday, one of the days Shawn prayed that it should come to an end before he even knew it. The sun had shone across his room and the rays flashed across his face each time he lifted his face to look at the door, just hoping that nobody would come to disturb his peace.

Although it was the last day of school for the week, Shawn was insistent that he didn't want to go. He had other plans, he had so much to do that he needed to skip classes, just maybe he was going to get the notes and lessons later.

Just suddenly, there was a noise coming down the hallway to Shawn's room. Shawn had been listening and he discovered they were footsteps.

"BANG BANG!" There came a knock on the door.

"I just knew this would happen," Shawn said shaking his head sadly.

Yes. . . I'm coming," Shawn said as he walked up to the door and opened it.

"What's the matter, mom?" Shawn asked, walking sluggishly back to the chair close to the window.
