Jake heaved a sigh as he looked into the room where Sasha was battling for her life again because of him. He didn't deserve to have her as a friend and worse, to be so close to him. He was starting to see that all he brought her was pain. Even in their high school days, it would always be because of him that she would get into trouble. Often than not, she took full responsibility and was always punished for his crimes. She was the best friend any man could ever ask for. He had hoped that when he had enough money, he would take care of her and not send her to the hospital, twice. He had to start doing right by her. It was past time.

"She is going to be alright babe," Amanda offered her pointless words of encouragement but they didn't matter to Jake that much. What he wanted to know was why Sasha would say such things.
