Amanda couldn't make it to the courthouse but Jake was happy about it. He didn't want anything that would upset her. Jake walked into the court room and decided to wait there for the judge to come back. He didn't want to stay outside and wait for Ivy to say all the rubbish she had to. Amanda was waiting for him when he got back to the hospital. It felt like she had purposely not allowed sleep to wash over her because immediately she saw him her eyes were wide open. He was sure of comforting her but when it came to him and Amanda, everything always ended differently from how he imagined it.
