"What did you do?" Michael asked unapologetically. Jake's head flew up and he immediately looked at his old-time friend. He was expecting some sympathy as Michael was always the person to run to for that but it looked like he didn't even care.

"What do you mean by that?"

"I don't need to ask so many questions, I know that you must have been the one to wrong her. You know what, let me rephrase that statement. I know that you are the one who wronged her and I think I know what you did."

"Is that so? Well, dazzle me with your answer." Jake wrapped his arms around his body and waited for him to speak.

"Okay, for starters. I have heard the story, you lied to her about who Amanda was to you and I'm sure that you lied to her about other things as well but you are just not telling me. That only is enough to make a woman walk away, Jake."

"So you are saying that you have never lied?"

"No, I am saying that I have never told someone a lie when I knew that the truth would have kept them alive.
