"Mr. Mysandra, your manners are extremely ill-mannered for a student who has been awarded a scholarship."
"EXACTLY."
The paper he found on the notice board Leon picked up and placed in front of the prefect.
"Oh, what's wrong with this?"
"Can you explain why my name is not listed as a scholarship recipient?"
The man in charge of the scholarship didn't seem to care. "Hmm yes, yes... three years of continuous scholarship is enough for you isn't it, if you don't like it, you can try again next year."
Leon's eyes turned red. "Are you kidding me? You and everyone here knows my financial situation, I won't be able to pay for college even for a month!"
He was still engaging his classmate in a joke until he pointed to a picture in a magazine. "Ah... it doesn't matter."
"SIR!"
"Noisy! Can't you see I'm choosing a vacation spot with my family? Besides, it's your fault why you plagiarized someone's assignment and got a blank grade for it! Are you satisfied now? Go away!"
Leon gasped. "What..."
"You bastard! The only way we could have fooled you all this time is if you were smart! It's true, your attitude is very similar to that of an uncivilized orphan!"
Left in confusion, Leon walked out with a head full of thoughts. His walking seems sluggish and he ended up putting his weight on the wall while pressing his head hard.
He was already struggling with living expenses and buying equipment for college. Leon would not be able to pay the equivalent of 50 or even 100 times his living expenses.
What was wrong?
Why was his research said to be plagiarized when he didn't even use the theme that most other students used.
Is someone trying to corner me? But I never told anyone about my assignment!
The only person whos saw my assignment is Mitty. But there no way.
Leon suddenly got up.
He then bumped into someone in his haste but he didn't care about that.
"Oh? Isn't that the person who plagiarized your work, Baron?"
Becky said sarcastically while hugging her lover.
Leon's steps stopped, he then turned his head and glared at one person in the gathering.
"Wow, look at his eyes. Tsk tsk, poor people always have a thieving spirit.
"Don't tell me that he has also been stealing other people's assignments to get first place." Ren and Norman's insults didn't go down well with Leon, who had gotten carried away with his emotions.
Ren, who had the biggest body, came forward and pushed Leon who was approaching them. "What do you want, you thief? Hehe, aah this is just right. A lowly person like you should look down like this. Right?"
Leon's eyes barked at the Baron who was equally looking down at him. A smile was then plastered on that face of his. "You're right, right now his position matches his behavior perfectly."
Once again Leon stood up and advanced. Ren tried to stop him again, but soon Leon brushed him off and dodged and he managed to grab the Baron's collar.
Shouts could be heard from some of the students who had gathered to watch Leon's misfortune as an interesting spectacle.
"You stole my research?"
Research that he needed to finish for a long time.
Baron shrugged his shoulders. "I don't understand why a thief would say that the victim is the one who stole it."
"Two-faced, I know you got the idea for my project from Mitty. You... since when are you guys doing this?!"
The Baron brought his face closer and whispered in Leon's ear
"Since when? Of course since the beginning, you idiot. Huh... how could she want to be with someone like you."
"Don't lie, you must have forced her to do this. She can't be like that"
BAron who was originally silent and unconcerned, now displayed a laugh, his laughter getting louder before finally fading away. He then looked past Leon's head.
"Hey Mitty,"
That remark made Leon turn his head around.
"Oi oi, cousin.... is it true you're dating this guy?"
Leon looked at the girl who had been his girlfriend for the past few years.
The beautiful and famously kind-hearted girl who had apparently been there all along, looked shocked by the expression and retreated. "What are you saying? Why should I date the person who threatened me to bring you down all this time." The girl's eyes shook, tears falling, a few of her friends then immediately restrained Mitty's body and snapped at Leon.
"So all this time you've been threatening Mitty? Just because you're a scholarship student?!
"Mitty! You're too kind! She cares too much about people like you!"
The Baron adjusted the position of his collar
"No one is defending you, everyone here hates poor people like you being in this school."
He then haughtily looked at his subordinates. Ren, Norman and a few others who understood happily grabbed Leon and pointed their fists at him.
There was absolutely no resistance from the pathetic man. Everyone closed their eyes and walked away.
Leon woke up in the dumpster, the only beautiful sight was the star-filled night sky.
I was so stupid. I should have known how sneaky those people were. How could I forget just one or two good things among the hundreds of bad things they have.
With difficulty, Leon got up. He patted his dirty clothes on the ground.
It was a bit difficult to open his eyes because his face was full of bruises, if not iced as soon as possible, it would definitely look very horrible tomorrow.
Leon stared at the gleaming circular object on his finger. Without hesitation, he removed and discarded it.
"Why did I believe she was different?"
Fundamentally, people like them would never change. And I was one of the foolish ones for believing in him.
"I need to find a way to regain my scholarship. Otherwise, I won't have a chance to continue my studies. At least, I don't want to ask for help from Randaff and that cursed family."
After fleeing from his mafia family, Leon and his mother lived alone, struggling to make a living. However, he ended up in a school with people who had almost the same traits as his family.
They all wanted to control everything, regardless of the suffering of those in the lower class.
Tomorrow, Leon planned to try various ways to reclaim what was rightfully his.
Leon's eyes caught his reflection in the large window of a shop.
"I can't work today."
It's better to go home.
Leon stood in front of his half-open bedroom door. He paused for a moment before advancing, turning on the light switch near the table.
His eyes then fell on the cluttered bed with various papers – exam sheets, assignments, some torn and scattered on the floor.
Leon moved forward and picked up the papers.
'Activity Report.'
There should be a signature of my teacher on the front cover, but half of the report was burnt and unusable.
Now, his eyes wandered to other places, some broken items scattered around. But this wasn't the work of a thief, as he could still find some of his money in the small drawer.
It must be them.
His eyes scanned further and found a broken vase with fresh flowers he had just bought that morning. There were some items like figurines and a gold chain on the floor.
Leo's face, initially flushed with anger, now turned to panic.
"Don't tell me—"
His hands quickly grabbed those items. A shattered photo frame, fortunately not tearing the photo inside.
Leon carefully cleaned the photo with a pounding heart, then hugged it tightly. Afterward, he picked up a fallen gold pendant, his eyes slightly trembling as he noticed a crack on it.
"Mother..."
Leo bit his lip hard, blood starting to trickle down.
Along with tears streaming down his eyelids.
The only memory he had of the woman he loved most.
And now, the item was damaged because Leon had disclosed to others where his home was and what was valuable to him.
The glossy black table, the only luxurious item and the place where he kept his mother's belongings, was now ruined.
Mitty and his cousin, Baron.
Leon took a deep breath, closing his eyes for quite some time.
"It must be that guy. Those barbaric people.... they were surely sent by Baron to destroy my home."
With a heavy heart, Leon grabbed his jacket and left the house in disarray.
With closed eyes and bound hands, a large man awoke as water was harshly poured onto his face. In panic, the man tried to move, but the chair he was sitting on was kicked, causing him to fall, and his face hit the floor. "Damn, don't you know who I am?!" No answer. "Crazy bastard! Just wait until I'm free-URGH." Leon kicked Ren's face repeatedly. After a moment, he bent down to untie the man's blindfold. Ren, initially ready to curse, at the person was stunned when he saw Leon's face filled with murderous intent. "Leon? You're LEON?! Wow, aren't you satisfied with what just happened?!" How could a cheap and poor kid like Leon behave like this towards him? Ren couldn't accept it. "Release me before I kill you." Ren gritted his teeth, staring at Leon who remained silent, staring straight ahead. "DO YOU REALLY WANT TO DIE?" This time, Leon moved. He put his hands on the chair and began untying Ren. "Good, be warned. You'll regret dealing with me." Ren kept rambling incoherent
Sweat dripped from his temples. The cold air didn't bother him much. Randoff, who had just entered the room, gazed at Leon calmly. "Are you awake, Sir?" Leon, who just finished his morning run is currently squatting while sipping some water, glanced towards the door. "You should call me when you want to go out." Leon look at him "Do I need permission to leave?" Randoff shook his head. "No. You don't, Sir" He had been in this place for two days. For the past two days, Randoff hadn't had the chance to take him around because he was busy dealing with the mess I caused in the old building. So far, there was no news of missing persons or discovered corpses. Thinking about that night made me shudder; it felt like I wasn't myself. But let bygones be bygones. As Randoff said, he would take care of everything. And I knew he could do it. "Randoff, what about my father?" Randoff looked at his young master and answered. "Mr. Yan is still working. He won't come home until his work fi
"Mr. Yan is an extraordinary man. He can compete with his siblings and become a leader at a young age. If someone asks who is the greatest, I would answer that it is Mr. Yan Drago, the father of young master Leon." Leon is currently sitting at the dining table with his teacher, Gera, who is explaining in detail the lesson they will learn today: table manners. Gera raises his hand, and several servants come and prepare lunch for them. Today's class session is held during lunchtime. "Have you studied table manners?" Gera asks. Leon replies, "I've read about it, but... I'm still confused." A sigh is heard from Gera. "Well, that's okay, it's because you're learning for the first time. In the past, the master could practice it directly just by reading a book. I think because you're his son you will be the same. But… unfortunately." His voice whispers but is still audible to Leon. Gera smiles, again. "That's why I've prepared special utensils for beginners like you, so you can easily
"Are you hurt, young master?" Leon shook his head. "No, what just happened? Didn't you say that my presence here is a secret? So why was there suddenly an intruder trying to kill me?" At the moment, Leon is someone transparent and unknown to anyone. Besides, his presence was not announced. No one knows about him except those inside this mansion. "What does it mean if my presence has been exposed?" "Don't worry too much, young master." Not worried? My life almost ended just now. Randoff moves quickly. Even though Leon says he's fine, a doctor is brought in to thoroughly examine Leon's condition. The doctor bows. "Don't worry, young master. You are fine." As I mentioned before. "That's expected from Mr. Yan's son. Your reflexes are extraordinary. The person who just hurt you is quite professional, but you handled it well." I retrieve my clothes from beside the bed and put them on when the examination is finished. The doctor taking care of him is an old woman with gray hair. H
"Are you planning to go for a morning run today, Master Leon?" "No, not now," Leon replied. Counting the days, it had only been a week since he arrived at this place. Within that short time, he had narrowly escaped an attempt on his life and had just dismissed his teacher. Leon seldom ventured outside his quarters and spent most of his time in the study or attending classes. The only exception was his morning jog around the mansion's grounds. "I'll go check on the state of the house," Leon decided. Randoff nodded. "Very well, sir. I'm sure everyone will be delighted that you've paid them a visit." With his trademark smile, Randoff stepped back to prepare Leon for the walk, a mole visible on his hand as he opened the door. Leon couldn't afford to relax, not after what had happened. It was no longer just about his father but about himself. He should have known what to expect dealing with a mafia family. As his mother had warned, life would become more difficult when dealing with
Mr. Gera, what are you doing here?" "Young master... I sincerely apologize for my recklessness all this time. What Mr. Leon said is true. I have spoken inappropriately to you, who is my superior, and I am nothing more than someone who follows orders. I have no right, and I am not worthy to be in your presence. I have regarded you as an outsider who knows nothing. I should have been more self-aware. Whoever you are, wherever you live, you are still Mr. Yan's child, his only son, and someone I should respect and educate with utmost sincerity." Gera lowered his head. "Please forgive me, sir." Leon moved his fingers several times, remaining silent for a considerable time. On the other hand, Gera did not stop bowing. "People always say to give a second chance because they deserve it." Gera lifted his head, pleased that Leon forgave him. However, his smile faded when Leon spoke again. "But I am not one of those people." Leon walked closer, quite near to Gera. "One insult will remain
"Are you ready, Mr. Leon?" Gera waited for Leon, who was currently getting ready. After Randoff straightened his tie, Leon exited the room, eliciting smiles from some servants. Maxi, who happened to be assisting him, was smiling broadly while looking at his master wrapped in a perfectly fitted black suit."Sir, you look very handsome!" Maxi praised enthusiastically. Leon looked at the boy and gave a small smile. "Thank you, it's all thanks to this outfit.""No, you really look handsome! Even without the suit, sir, you look really cool," the boy praised again. Gera glanced at Randoff and nodded, signaling."Well then." Interrupting Maxi, who was still enthusiastically showering him with compliments, Randoff said, "We're leaving now, Mr. Leon." Leon walked following Randoff, with Gera by his side.Today, he and Gera were attending a party hosted by the Drago family. Gera had told him that this event would help Leon learn more about his family. Here, he would be introduced to some hig
"Alright, big brother!""But..." The two siblings being bullied looked at Baron. A sinister grin appeared on his face. "Isn't this amusing? Having two disabled kids as competitors for the Rombergh family. I don't understand why Father told me to be nice to this family."Baron exhaled smoke deliberately in the direction of the unfortunate siblings until they coughed. "Don't play for too long with them; come back inside," Baron said. The younger sibling of Baron just smiled, nodded, and then turned to the two kids in front of them with a smirk. "Kala, Kala! If you can refrain from screaming when I hit you later, I won't bother your little brother at school tomorrow!"This wasn't an ordinary children's game. Whoever that kid was, the way the people around him taught him was very wrong. Kala's younger sibling shook, restraining Kala from leaving. Kala just smiled faintly, ruffled the hair of his crying sibling, and stood up. It made the sibling of Baon laugh happily."Hehe, I'll try u
