Unfolded Truth

We walked back into the house happier than ever, and I made a meal

for all of us to celebrate the hope that these following events had given us.

Talking with my brothers under the moonlight was the only light source, just like the castle that I was in, discussing how we would live in

a better place with better food and three rooms, three beds. Just what

we always dreamed of, an everyday life. For the first time in

my life, I shut my eyes, barely waiting for tomorrow.

Rushing to get an evaluation tablet, I completely forget

that it costs 100 silver. Being more broke than ever right now, I started thinking of ideas of earning enough money for it. Making some breakfast

quickly with what was left, I rushed to train our basement at the

back of our house. I had never gone in it since it was locked, but a while back

I found the keys in a box my "parents" had in their room and some old photos of a noble couple. I had no idea why they were there.

"CLICK!" the lock made a sharp sound as I turned the key and opened the basement. "There we go!" enthusiastic for a short moment

I burst the door open. Dust clouded me, and a rotten smell came from down there.

Curiosity filled my mind as I descended the stairs carefully.

"Uck!" it smelled like straight crap in here. There was plenty of room, surprisingly enough,

And the only thing that was in there was a small drawer, a pair of

dusty gauntlets, and a sheathed sword. "That deadbeat couldn't have

been a rift walker, and there's no way!" I thought to myself. He was trash

beyond understanding and had no morals; there was no way he

even worked for a day in his life, so being a rift walker was out of the question.

Confused, I opened the drawers and found many torn letters that

looked like they were older than me. They had dates, so before reading

I start putting them in order. The dates ranged from what was close to my

date of birth until I was four years old, which meant that they were almost eighteen years old.

I noticed they all had a stamp that I didn't recognize from any of my books.

It read "DRACOFIST FAMIGLIA".

After arranging them, I start reading them one by one. The first one read:

"We deeply apologize for this burden we have left upon you but

this is our last chance to save our offspring, and our territories are

on the brink of invasion from the House of Royal Angels."

Now, this was a name I was familiar with since the House of Royal Angels

was the most powerful of all the royal families and hosted over

twenty 1st rank rift walkers, but the thing that got my attention was

That they were talking about an offspring. I continue to read the letter:

"The newfound power that was located in our six-month-old newborn was apparently

too dangerous to be left alive, so they started a war to either get hold of

the power or just put out the flame at the source, whoever gets this

Letter, please look after our Raphael we won't be able to fight much longer

as the other families joined hands with them and hold grudges against us."

I stood there, shocked at the mention of my name, in disbelief, finding that

the dates matched up, and the first letter's  date was six months after

what I was told my birthday was.
