Cursed Kid

A gust of wind on a very quiet night. That night, there was good news for the husband who was going to have a child.

"Aaargh!"

The scream of a woman who was trying to give birth to her child, the clouds began to shift, the moonlight and the small expanse of stars in the sky closed when heard it. Rain began to fall, strong winds and the sound of thunder seemed to be cheering for the birth of the child.

“Owaa…!”

After trying hard enough, the child was finally born.

The presence of this new life gave a bad feeling to some who were said to be Sovereigns.

"Uh!" The man who was sitting dreamily on his chair became very surprised. "What's this? Has a new power emerged?” The man's hands trembled, that feeling could only arise when he encountered a very strong opponent.

Not only did that man feel a great power, he also who was above the clouds felt the same way.

"Ugh! What about this? Is this a sign of a new catastrophe?” The man wearing white armor glared in surprise, he felt a powerful aura radiate from the distance. Even if he didn't see it, he could still feel the immense energy.

At a time when the world was excited about his birth. The child became a great gift given to both parents.

The baby boy who has red eyes with a strange symbol on his right arm, if you look closely, the appearance of the baby is quite scary. But, to the mother and father, the baby is like fine white flour.

When the child grows up, everything looks normal. However, when he was 4 years old, a strange change occurred. The child has hands that are quite different from the average child, his hands look like monsters.

The people in the village became so frightened when they saw the child, the villagers began to call him a cursed child. The mother and father were very embarrassed, but they couldn't blame it all on the child.

They decided to lock up the child, so that everyone would not be afraid anymore.

Several years have passed, the child has never left the house. His right hand was getting bigger until it was like the hand of a very terrible monster, he was isolated and locked up in a special room, or you could call it a storage room located under the house.

There is nothing pleasant in the room, only old things that are not used. Cobwebs decorated the room and dust was everywhere, he was treated like a prisoner.

The look in the eyes of his parents began to change, they seemed to dislike the presence of their child. Since the news about his son having monster-like hands made it difficult for the child's father to get a job, before this he was a merchant. Due to the rumors circulating, the man was now just an ordinary farmer who took care of the small garden behind the house and took care of the farm.

Their economy becomes very narrow to support their living. They also often quarreled, until the child's ears could hear.

He could only be silent. "Why? Why did I become like this?” The child is only 12 years old, but the treatment and attitude of those around him develop his way of thinking. The kid should still be thinking about playing, but now he's become more sensitive like an adult.

From the gap in the room, sunlight came in. He glanced at the gap, his eyes on the clouds moving freely.

“Huh… if I could become a bird, I would definitely be able to fly freely without being here!”

In the middle of that thought, the door of the room opened and a man appeared. The man who looked at him very cynically.

"Here eat it!" The man put down a bowl of soup containing four vegetables. “Tch… if you can only be troublesome, it's better that you don't need to be born in this world!”

The face that used to be filled with smiles, now only has a look of hatred with scorn that always comes out of his mouth.

The child lowered his head, he didn't want to fight his parents. Indeed, what made his father a violent man, was his presence in this world.

The man then went outside, he violently slammed the door, that voice startling the kid.

The silence of the room was very piercing, the child's tears began to fall one by one. "Why! Why am I being like this? Can't I live like a human? Is it because of this hand…!” He glared angrily at his right hand, the hand red like that of a monster.

He grabbed the hand with all his might to let it go. His left hand had to get several wounds from the sharp nails coming from the fingers of the right hand.

Brack!

Suddenly from the direction of one of the items there was a noise, the sound came from an object that was on a shelf then fall.

The child became curious, he began to approach the source of the sound. A small box lay on the floor, then he picked it up and opened it.

"Uh!" He became confused because what he saw was a book. Dusty book with black cover.

"What book is this?" The book has a fairly large thickness, the child began to open it. A row of strange writings that were different from the usual writing lined up neatly, the child could not read it. All because when he was 7 years old, he was immediately locked up in a warehouse, so no one ever taught him to read. However, before that he often saw parents and several people reading the written letters, with his memory he tried to read the book.

“Eh…!” The boy was very surprised. "What's this? Why can I read the contents of this book?” The writing had just been seen by his eyes, but he could immediately comprehend. He still couldn't put the words together. However, the memories of the people he had heard of became a weapon for him to understand the contents of the book.

After he read the book, some of the letters that came out of his mouth sounded very strange. Absolutely not he could understand what the meaning of those words, understand the book can not just one day.

After that day, he spent time studying it. He also read several other books that were there, so that he became more knowledgeable. There was only one book that had a strange language, the letters were quite disheveled so that the language still could not be understood by the child, he felt an important meaning contained in the book.

2 years later…

It's been two years now, the boy has become more mature. The attitude of his parents was still the same as usual, very cold. He also never saw his mother, so far only his father brought food to him.

He didn't have time to dwell on his father's actions. A book that provides information on events in the past, has given him hope.

The book teaches about life to reach the future. It was thanks to the book that he found a goal.
