Maxus recalled hearing about them on the news, a pair of young assassins barely even legal adults sneaking into a festival to kill the President of a neighboring Southeast Asian country. They had to be the same people, The Revenant based on everything Maxus knew would only hire assassins of a high level of skill and reputation. "Bring me your heads!" Rasp shouted, leaping forward and slashing her scythe at Maxus and Yuki, forcing both vigilantes back when a volley of throwing knives were launched at them, prompting both vigilantes to use their weapons to deflect the incoming projectiles as fast as they could, splitting themselves far from each

"They were right. Soultaker is a threat." The Revenant, Yahamad looked down at his cuts, watching as blood from his open forearm laceration halting it's flow and and the open wound itself, starting to close in at inhuman speeds. Afan, his brother was sitting in his wheelchair watching the footage of his brother's fight with the Soultaker and Moonfox, analyzing their actions. "Their skills are nothing to scoff at. It's all on perfect display within these clips on how one man could take down someone as powerful as the Blood Lion. The mastery he has over his sword and every action he makes is so carefully yet quickly executed, minimizing himself being exposed. If you didn't have these abilities, he may have killed you." Afan tells Yahamad. "He might have yes. Among the hundreds of warriors I have killed, he has been the only one who has survived an encounter with me. Moonfox on the other hand is slightly less skilled, but the way she could read my attacks and compliment her next moves

Maxus had rarely experienced any form of travel nor luxury and now, he found himself awaiting in queue to board a 5 star luxury overnight bus, paid fully for by Siu."What do you mean charge my phone?" Maxus couldn't understand the features the bus offered."There's an in built charger on every seat." Dante explains."That's not possible.""Why not?"Gan sat beside Siu who were both in front of himself and Dante who was trying to hold back his laughter, watching Siu roll her eyes irritably as the gigantic Gan snored loudly in his sleep. "Aren't you pretty good at meditating?" Dante teased Siu while Maxus still inspected the bus seat's charging plug, still impressed in awe by the comfort and convenience the bus possessed."Meditating does not turn off my ears." Fallen From Grace
Two heroes, killed in one day.Maxus now found himself waiting at the rooftop of Doctor Han's clinic, drenched in rainwater. It was stormy, violent winds paired with a heavy rain which blasted Maxus at full force which the vigilante just willingly tanked, hoping that his physical discomfort could somehow hurt more than lingering guilt he had crawling around his heart. The smell of wet asphalt filled his nostrils as a streak of lightning lit up the view in front of him, granting him a glimpse of the town as well as the two silhouettes of Tuskblade and Wing Serpent respectively, both of them finally arriving at the rooftop of Doctor Han's clinic."Soultaker? Are you alone?" Siu asks."Dante's downstairs being treated by Doctor Han. We were chased by the Puppet Man, both of us were completely outclassed. The Penjaga
The PenjagaThis wasn't the first time Maxus had stepped foot in a luxurious estate. Nevertheless, he always found such places too surreal for him, admiring every last detail of the two story bungalow like house he had stepped into. The house reminded him of a villa, smooth bamboo, grey marble tiles and beige wood made up the majority of the materials in the house, providing a simple and cozy atmosphere. The main entrance led to a wide open concept living room that faced the seaside, allowing the cool breeze of the ocean to reach the living space, accompanied by the natural warm lighting of the environment. At the very center of the room, a large dark oak wooden table stood as Maxus took a seat, still admiring the many details the house boasted."I know it's pointless to say this but...out of courtesy, do make yourself at home." Dante tells him, sitting opposite him by the main dining table, placing his feet on the top of the table and munching down on raw olives. He was completely r

Daylight. It was finally peaceful. Maxus opened his eyes slowly, his head spinning in pain as his consciousness and senses slowly returned. He was barely recovered, many parts of his body still aching with soreness and pain but for the most part, it was the most refreshed Maxus had ever felt in weeks especially with the immediate weight of the Revenant's threat now gone. Memories of the previous night was hazy, all he could remember were the flashing images of Ali and Reynesh picking him up, bringing him to their house where he provided the number of Madam Ang to come and help him with his injuries. Madam Ang did what she was best at, helping tend to his injuries while Maxus slipped in and out of consciousness for hours and...someone...a familiar and gentle presence helped clean him up. "Officer Wong...Yuki..." Maxus' attention diverted to his fallen allies. Was Yuki still alive? Did the medics manage to stabilize her condition? "I was wondering when you'd wake up fully, you're
