Colonel Amu closed his eyes, knowing in his heart that his final moments might be upon him.A six man vigilante squad had just defeated his entire military base of over a hundred men.He was in a dark room with a singular light bulb hanging on the ceiling. There was no visible entrance or window and in front of him was someone he never would have thought he would ever have the misfortune to meet and yet the demonic protector of Singapore himself, the Soultaker was in his presence. The vigilante's glowing hollow white eyes glared directly into the colonel's soul. "You don't know who I am, my kidnapping will have the Royal Thai Army down your throats in hours." Colonel Amu braved."My blade can be shot down your throat before you can even blink, wanna bet who's gonna be faster?" Maxus taunts."Why am I here?" Colonel Amu asks as from behind him, Siu lightly tapped her wrist blades against the Colonel's ear, warning him:" We know about the morgue and the people in your camp, there agains
You're not indestructible.Your Kevlar laced clothes and armor can only protect you so much from the bullets and damage you constantly run into but at the end of the day, you're just somebody who doesn't know when to give up, somebody who cares more about punishing and saving rather than preserving your own life. Call it foolishness or bravery, you and I both know that is the truth. That's who you are... Maxus Tan. Who told me this...?Maxus could only spare a moment to remember those words as he was now sent flying across the air at uncontrollable speeds, smashing back first into the side of a parked van, shattering the glass and denting the metal doors of the vehicle. "Ugh..." Maxus could barely get back up when the cold metallic fingers of the Puppet Man grabbed him by the collar, tossing him into the air yet again. You cannot die. Not now.Maxus forced his eyes to stay open, deploying his chained blades which shot through to the roof of the police station, propelling him away fro
Two heroes, killed in one day.Maxus now found himself waiting at the rooftop of Doctor Han's clinic, drenched in rainwater. It was stormy, violent winds paired with a heavy rain which blasted Maxus at full force which the vigilante just willingly tanked, hoping that his physical discomfort could somehow hurt more than lingering guilt he had crawling around his heart. The smell of wet asphalt filled his nostrils as a streak of lightning lit up the view in front of him, granting him a glimpse of the town as well as the two silhouettes of Tuskblade and Wing Serpent respectively, both of them finally arriving at the rooftop of Doctor Han's clinic."Soultaker? Are you alone?" Siu asks."Dante's downstairs being treated by Doctor Han. We were chased by the Puppet Man, both of us were completely outclassed. Nightbead found us, stayed behind to hold the Puppet Man back but I have not heard from him since then." Maxus summarized as Tuskblade took off his hardened leather mask, revealing the f
Bus trip time!Maxus and his friends! Maxus could feel the part of him that never grew up feeling slightly excited for what he was about to experience. Maxus had rarely experienced any form of travel nor luxury and now, he found himself awaiting in queue to board a 5 star luxury overnight bus, paid fully for by Siu."What do you mean charge my phone?" Maxus couldn't understand the features the bus offered."There's an in built charger on every seat." Dante explains."That's not possible.""Why not?"Gan sat beside Siu who were both in front of himself and Dante who was trying to hold back his laughter, watching Siu roll her eyes irritably as the gigantic Gan snored loudly in his sleep. "Aren't you pretty good at meditating?" Dante teased Siu while Maxus still inspected the bus seat's charging plug, still impressed in awe by the comfort and convenience the bus possessed."Meditating does not turn off my ears." Siu complained, grabbing her earpiece and turning up the volume of her musi
Hi, I am Max Lee, author is this book.I have recently decided to repolish the entirety of the Soultaker book. I am currently in the middle of redoing parts of the story as I feel like it does not represent the story I have in mind well. I therefore am going to redo the story with additional content and revised scenes and hopefully will republsh them either here or other platforms. Please keep a lookout for the same title Soultaker: Guardian of Singapore and I will be re releasing this book some time in the near future.Thank you for your support.
I took my first life when I was 15. One year later, that kill count rose into the dozens and by the time my teenage years were over...I could barely recall how many people fell victim to me. Most people around the world such as policemen and news reporters think it's around...five hundred. But I know the real number lies within the thousands.Maxus Tan stood at the edge of a tall skyscraper overlooking the Marina Bay Skyline, the gorgeous beautiful city of Singapore, his home, a sight that his eyes had feasted upon hundreds of times and yet, each time he gazed upon the city he would still feel a strong sense of belonging like every time was his first. He was known as many things. The Soultaker, The Sole Defender of Singapore, Vigilante of the Lion City, Southeast Asia's Deadliest Man... some people didn't even think he exists, that the Soultaker was a myth created by the locals to steer criminals away from Singapore. The infamous vigilante who is widely known to be the sole hero of
"Bring those girls in!" Maxus could hear several voices within the school compound of Teck Ghee Primary School. They were faint till the point where people in the neighborhood would never hear them unless they were in the school's vicinity and at 2am, who the hell would be? Maxus looked around him, ensuring that no one could see him before breaking into a sprint towards the gates of the school, latching onto them and hopping his way over the fence before landing on his toes, making as little noise as he could."Those bastards are late. Should we call them?" "No point, Mr VIP ain't even here yet." VIP... Every word he heard just made the situation seem more and more strange. Maxus knew he had to get a better angle of the men as he made his way silently towards the source of the voices, drawing out his twin blades as he heard footsteps across the hallway heading towards him. The vigilante closed his eyes, honing his senses to focus onto the approaching footsteps and confirming that o
Dozens of bodies found at Olympia Primary. Prostitution activities suspected to be taking place. Evidence point to a vigilante like person breaking into the hall and taking out the gang. Police warn that whoever was reponsible is extremely dangerous and that the public should remain vigilant until the culprit is found. "Names...Soultaker? What kind of name is that?" Maxus read. The teenager noticed one of the nearby newspaper outlets, their headline giving him all the information he needed for now. For many months now he has expected himself to be noticed, leaving a trail of dead bodies everywhere he went, it was only a matter of time before the police figured out that some vigilante like him was doing this. How many people have I killed...? "Maxus...right?" A gentle, flowery voice broke his chain of thought. Maxus turned around to see a familiar looking girl waving at him from a small distance away, a girl around his age with a slim build, shorter than him by half a head about
