Philip looked at the battered, severed head in front of him and his mind went blank, he was unable to process all the information he just received.

"You see, I sent out an order. It was to capture you and kill anyone who you deemed as an ally or companion. Since you went out of your way to help those rats, I naturally had to enforce my order." Kaiser snickered seeing Philip's expression.

"Don't feel bad. We would have killed them regardless. Still, I can't help but marvel at how much you care about those pests." Kaiser shook his head.

"You told Xavier that they were innocent. Would you spare a rat if it hadn't done anything? And besides, even if you spare it, it will eventually take advantage of you. These pests may look up to you now. But sooner or later, they'll begin to fear you, and then they'll try to either kill you or control you." Despite saying all this, Philip didn't hear him. Or rather, his brain didn't register his words.
