As they walked into the restaurant, Alastair surveyed the room.
"Hm..." He frowned.
"What's the matter?" Rachael questioned.
"I-it's nothing..." Alastair mumbled.
"I was wondering where you went off to!" A voice called out.
Suddenly Alastair's face lit up.
"R-RIKI...!" He cried out.
Riki studied the girl beside him for a moment.
"And this is...?" She asked.
"O-oh, this?!" Alastair stammered, pointing at Rachael.
"This is my..."
"I'm his co-worker, Rachael." Rachael smiled.
"Co-worker...?" Riki frowned.
"Aren't you a bit too young t-"
"Kids, they say the silliest things, huh?!" Alastair cried, quickly cutting her off.
"I'm watching after her, at least for the time being!" He chuckled nervously.
"Right..." Riki said.
"Anyway, a pleasure to meet you, Rachael!" Riki beamed.
She's so cute when she smiles like that...! Alastair thought to
Sitting up in his bed, Alastair stretched and let out a yawn. He then turned his attention towards the clock on his nightstand. "Oh jeez...!" He cried out, quickly jumping out of his bed. "Is something the matter?" Rachael, who was sitting on the couch already dressed, questioned. "I have to go pick Kiernan up from camp; I overslept..." Alastair grumbled. "Kiernan...?" Rachael asked as she cocked her head in confusion. "A-ah, right, you two haven't met yet, huh?" Alastair said as he quickly took a swig of orange juice. Rachael shook her head. "Is she nice?" She asked. "Kiernan? Mm, she's pretty laidback." Alastair responded. "I see..." Rachael smiled. "May I take a ride if it's not too much trouble, Alastair?" She questioned. "Sure, if you want, I don't care." Alastair shrugged. * As the two made their way down the hall, they ran into a familiar couple of faces. "I told yo
As they ran towards the commotion, there was already a crowd gathered around outside of the cabin. "Out of the way!" Alastair shouted. "What makes you so special?!" A boy snarled, blocking the two. Alastair let out a sigh as he slowly began to remove his eyepatch. "So your eye is weird; what does that have to do with-" "Just get out of the way!" Alastair huffed, shoving the boy aside as he made his way towards the cabin. "You jerk...!" The boy cried. "My apologies..." Rachael muttered as she quickly followed Alastair. As they got to the entrance, a counselor was blocking the door. "Yeesh, what's with you people..." Alastair grumbled. "We're here to help...!" Rachael exclaimed. "Help...?" The counselor questioned. Just then, another scream came from inside the cabin. "Move!" Alastair cried as he slammed the cabin door open. "Good grief..." Alastair muttered. On the
After dropping Kiernan off at her apartment, Alastair lounged around at his desk while Rachael was fast asleep on the couch. Alastair let out a sigh as he turned his attention to the unconscious Rachael. Man does this kid do anything besides sleep...? He wondered to himself. Sighing once more, Alastair laid back in his chair, shutting his eyes. * "Doctor, have you prepared the patient for his upcoming surgery?" A woman asked. "Yes, it seems that the boy is physically ready to handle the operation; his body has responded to the injections just fine." A man replied. "Excellent, now go retrieve him," the woman said. "Oh, and Doctor Honch," the woman continued. "You are looking quite pale, tell me; you haven't grown attached to this experiment, have you?" The woman asked, narrowing her eyes. "No, ma'am," The Doctor quickly replied. "Now, if you'll excuse me," he coughed. "I shall go and prepare experiment 367 for his operation," he said, taking his leave. "We'll see about that
As morning came, Rachael lethargically rolled out of bed. Upon walking out of her bedroom, she noticed Alastair cooking."Oh," Alastair began, turning his head."Good morning." He smiled."G-good morning..." Rachael grumbled."What are you cooking?" She asked as she took a seat at the counter."Crepes," Alastair said with a smile."Eh?!" Rachael's face suddenly lit up."Really?!" She cried."Hey now, who said you were getting any?" Alastair teased."Hmph...!" Rachael puffed her cheeks in annoyance."Lighten up," Alastair chuckled, sliding a plate in front of the girl.Suddenly Alastair noticed Rachael was wiping her eyes."Do you have something in your eye?" He questioned."M-mm...!" Rachael nodded profusely as she continued trying to hide her tears.Alastair looked at her dumbfounded."Oi, Rachael, are you-""I'm not crying!" She cried."Rachael," Alastair began, s
As Kacie was busy on the phone with a client, Alastair was hovering over her seemingly nervously. "Would you like me to inform him about anything else?" Kacie questioned. "I see..." She nodded, jotting something down on a nearby notepad. "Okay then, take care, bye-bye!" She said, hanging up the phone. "Well?" Alastair began just inches from her face. "Uh, boss, a little personal space isn't too much to ask, for now, is it...?" Kacie asked, chuckling nervously. "Ah, you're right, my apologies..." Alastair mumbled, stepping back a bit. "So," Kacie began, clearing her throat. "The client is a nightclub owner who has had complaints filed about a mysterious woman who has flirted with numerous male customers only to mock them, then disappear suddenly without a trace..." She stated. Alastair let out a sigh. "Are we sure these dudes aren't just bitching about the fact that some girl stood them up?" He asked, rol
As Alastair and Rachael arrived at the club, the bouncer narrowed his eyes."Please show me your ID." He instructed rather coldly."Ah, well, you see," Alastair began."Nope, leave." The bouncer replied, pointing to the streets."If you would just hear me out,""No kids allowed." The bouncer couldn't care less about what Alastair had to say."First of all, pal, I'm not a kid-""Leave!" The bouncer barked."We're here because the owner hired us to exorcise a spirit!" Rachael suddenly chimed in.The men quickly turned to her.The bouncer then looked to Alastair with a sheepish grin."Sorry about that, you two may enter..." He mumbled in defeat."Gee, thanks," Alastair sighed."Come on, Rach," Alastair began, taking her hand in his.*As the two made their way around the nightclub searching for the owner, Alastair let out a sigh."There are way too many people in here; at thi
As Alastair removed his eyepatch, he quickly surveyed the room.I don't see her... He thought, narrowing his eyes.Suddenly Rachael tugged on his sleeve."Huh?" He turned to her."I sense some energy coming from downstairs!" She exclaimed."Now that you mention it..." Alastair whispered."Rach, you stay here, and when that song you know I like comes on, that's your cue to start the process of sealing, okay?"Rachael cocked her head."You mean that song with the bad words...?""My Lonely Vision by Six Feet Under Conversations!" Alastair exclaimed."Just listen for the title of the song in the lyrics, okay?!" He cried."Fine, but stop yelling at me!" Rachael demanded as she proceeded to stick her tongue out."Good grief..." Alastair grumbled, making his way to the stairs.*As he began descending the steps, Alastair felt a cool breeze brush his neck.So she is here...<
As he managed to reach the top of the staircase, Alastair let out a moan as he plopped down on the top step.Idiot! I don't have time to rest, what if Rachael is...!"Alastair..." A voice groaned.Alastair's eyes widened."R-Rachael...!" He cried, fumbling around.Thank goodness...!He thought in relief.Alastair slowly rose, knees shaking as he carefully walked over to where he had left the girl.As he stumbled around helplessly searching for Rachael, a small hand suddenly grabbed at his ankle."I'm right here..." A voice called out from below.Alastair quickly looked down to notice Rachael lying on the ground below, face down."R-Rachael...!" Alastair cried, dropping to his knees."We did it, yes?" Rachael questioned, smiling softly."Quit talking; you're going to use up the rest of your strength!" Alastair scolded."You didn't answer my question Alastair you m-meanie.
