Chapter 7

After Collins had disconnected the call

Ryan didn't need a prophet to tell him that this was none other than his grandfather.

Collins too him to the library where his grandfather used as his office space and also relaxed the man was a voracious reader.

It took only two minutes to arrive before a brown mahogany door.

"Young Master Ryan you may enter." Collins stepped back as he put his hands behind him.

Ryan touched the silver door handle with beads of sweat forming on his forehead as his heart raced, he was about to meet the one Collins was talking about the whole time the one who'd sent Collins to find him.

Ryan turned the door handle as the door gave way.

Ryan walked through the large library as he saw several books kept neatly in shelves along with different pictures of birds.

It wasn't too long before he saw an old man who was clean shaven in a brown T shirt and shorts sitting behind a black table, this table had documents scattered all over it.

Contrary to Ryan's thoughts the Old man looked calm and calculated and not mean.

The Old man adjusted his silver rimmed glasses as if he was scanning the young fellow that stood before him.

"Collins are you sure that this is Ryan Goldway?" The Old man asked as he wore a grave look.

"Indeed Master he is the true son of the Goldway family." Collins replied respectfully from the entrance.

The Old man stood up as tears welled up in his eyes he couldn't stop himself from crying.

Ryan felt a bit weird but he couldn't stop the matured man from expressing his feelings, this made him feel an unexplainable connection to him.

The man left his seat and hugged the boy tightly for several minutes, until he'd finally been reassured that he was touching his own grandson he didn't leave him.

The two sat down as the man wiped the tears of his eyes.

"My grandson Ryan Goldway I've been looking for you for all this years, and I'm glad that you've finally returned to your family." The Old man said after clearing his throat.

"You can call me Grandad." The Old man added.

"Grandad why did you leave me to suffer all these years?" Ryan inquired.

"I'll explain everything." Ryan's Grandad replied as he held his grandson's palms.

Ryan could feel the hard palms of his grandfather but an unwavering strong flame of connection in his heart to him.

Ryan felt at home with him.

"It all happened 17 years ago when your father Johnny Goldway and his wife Madison Goldway were returning from a trip to the Mansion, somehow the vehicle's brakes stopped working as the car was involved in an accident." The Matured man said.

"It didn't take long before the first responders arrived and discovered that your parents had died, but the way you survived was just purely a miracle the only issue was the first responders didn't find you." The Matured man lowered his tone.

"I was informed first hand about everything but after several investigations it was concluded that someone took you away from the accident, shortly after the accident." Ryan's Grandad concluded.

Shortly after Ryan's Grandad had concluded the story silence enveloped the room as Ryan and his Grandfather allowed the story to sink in, Ryan had finally understood why he couldn't see his real parents and began to piece things together.

"But how did Mr Collins find me? Also who is he to you Grandad?" Ryan inquired in a low tone breaking the silence.

"Mr Collins is my butler and a junior friend of mine he served me for a little while and then my son until that unfaithful day, he'd worked so hard and found you after much confirmation." Ryan's Grandad answered.

Ryan's Grandad brought out some documents from the drawer and pushed it towards his grandson.

"What are these documents Grandad?" Ryan asked with a puzzled look.

"These are the documents that detail the companies under the conglomerate Goldway Industries." The Matured man replied.

Ryan looked through the documents and was surprised to see that Clover the social platform was owned by Goldway Industries, along with varying companies providing different goods and services that Goldway Industries held most of its shares.

They were so many on the list truly making Goldway Industries a force to reckon with.

"Grandson from now on you'll become the new head of Goldway Industries and your duties will be forwarded to your email." The Matured man informed Ryan.

Ryan snapped out of his thoughts after hearing what his Grandad said he knew that he couldn't juggle both school and a major conglomerate.

"Grandad please I'm only in my final year I need to keep my grades up as they've always been, could you keep managing it for a little while please." Ryan pleaded as he had his hands in a pleading posture.

"I'm sorry I can't do it anymore I need my rest and besides my Doctor has advised me to relax, so that I won't have stress related illnesses" Ryan's Grandad replied as he tapped the table.

"I founded Goldway Industries and changed the fortunes of our family I made it great I wanted to hand it over to you father, but he died too early and now that I've found you you'll be the new heir." Ryan's Grandad added.

"Can I deputize someone to run the conglomerate's affairs while I focus on my education?" Ryan inquired.

"I've already made possible the necessary signatures thereby handing the conglomerate over to you, you can choose a capable hand to run it for you until you're free." Ryan's Grandad answered.

Ryan took up one of the documents seeing his Grandfather's signature thereby handing the conglomerate over to him, he then discovered his Grandfather's name is Robert Goldway.

"I know what I must do." Ryan said firmly; his face looking emotionless.

Robert looked at his grandson and smiled one that was rarely seen on his face, he could see the resemblance of his son in his grandson.

He took a framed image and handed it over to his grandson.

"Here take a look at it." Robert said as he folded his palms.

Ryan looked carefully at the picture it was a young man and a stunning woman by his side they wore charming smiles.

"They're your parents." Robert uttered.

Ryan caressed the framed image as he could remember a faint image of these two people.

"May their souls rest in perfect peace." Ryan uttered.

Ryan kept back the framed image on the table as he began to look at the documents once more.

"I'll like you to meet someone." Ryan's Grandad said.

"Who?" Ryan inquired as he continued to read through the documents.

"Come in." Robert uttered.

Ryan lifted his gaze and turned back only to see a stunning woman she looked like she was in her early thirties, she had black hair that rested on her shoulders and dark brown pupils.

She wore a casual wear since she was at the residence.

Although she was very attractive she had a calm ambience and yet a childlike behavior.

"She's Ruby Goldway." Ryan's Grandad introduced.

"My sis?" Ryan looked puzzled as he posed the question.

"Not really she's an orphan but I took interest in her after picking her up from the cold and unforgiving streets of Russia, I took care of her as I nurtured her and now she's this beautiful lady." Robert narrated.

Ryan then understood how she became part of the Goldway family.

"Hello brother Ryan it's a pleasure to meet you." Ruby said calmly as she offered a handshake.

Ryan felt a bit reluctant but he accepted her offered handshake.

"I've been helping Dad here to run the conglomerate I'll walk you through the process, and if you need help I'll be there to help you." Ruby said in an assuring tone.

"She's an economist so you don't have to worry as she's very experienced and with Collin's help you'll be fine." Robert added .

"Alright it's been a pleasure meeting you grandson, i'm glad that the successor to Goldway Industries and most of all my dear grandson is alive." Robert concluded as he got up and patted the boy at the back before leaving.

Ruby followed along with Ryan who kept the documents in the file holder laying on the table as he kept it there.

Ryan was the last to leave the library.
