The Gods Descend once again in the air above the coliseum. Duna then speaks once again seeing nobody moves from their places. “Arise warriors of Titanoire” , suddenly, a wind of rejuvenation blows around everyone as their body becomes healed. No more wounds appeared in everyone’s body in the whole coliseum.
“We thanked the gods for their blessings” everyone voiced, including the vertelixes in their own language. “Sólskin ceetas” or “thank you my sunlord” the vertelixes shouted with awe.
“Brave warriors, today it's ignorant who think the cause they follow is just.
It's what a lot of people think, but the ideal is not a wrong way, it's just a way we can follow, it can be a reason to live.
If you die for your convictions, you will be an extremist for your enemies and a hero for your friends, but everyone will remember that you were brave and that is the most important.” said Traust.
Today, we are witnessing a new dawn. a new legend. The stars have spoken. He has been chosen as the one who will walk the way of the champion. Today, we held our heads high.
Aiden Dawnwhisper, the chosen one. Today he will fight with 5 warriors from 5 Head House. 2 House will not be invited to this battle, House of Atelerix as he is one of them and House of Traust for I have given my word.
House of Hefnd, House of Duna, House of Froed, House of Aestr, and House of Reidi please send your warrior in the coliseum.
Atelerix then speaks for the first time. “The chosen one is from my House but i as the House god is not his patron god, but still he is worthy to bear the mark of Atelerix. I will bestow him full health every time he wins a battle in this world, that is the best I can do, the fatigue is on his own power, that I promise you.”
All the members of House of Atelerix then run up to Aiden in the middle of the coliseum and take him away.
Everyone has a tacit understanding, they then prepared their best fighter of every house mentioned except the house of Traust.
15 Minutes later, Aiden entered the coliseum together with 5 other fighters as they prepared to enter the trial.
A small portal is opened in the middle of the coliseum as the sands turn into a big glass screen with fogs covering the surface.
“Now enter the trial, all the combatants,” Traust says.
Everyone then enters the portal. The fog then dispersed and showed a fast maze.
A tall broken temple in an eerie mountain base marks the entrance to this dungeon. Beyond the broken temple lies a small, worn room. It's covered in dirt, bat droppings and rat droppings.
Aiden's sylvari eyes allow him to see drawings and symbols on the walls, decayed and desolated by time itself.
Further ahead is a single path. Its twisted trail leads past broken and pillaged tombs and soon you enter a ghastly area. Rows upon rows of shelves are packed with books or remnants of books. In the center sits a single skeleton. What happened in this place?
Everyone carefully continues onwards, finding murals of people running away from a being, human-like but with a head having a pair of horns like a ram horn, its feet are like a goat's feet, many humans, demons, elves, gnomes, dwarf, high orcs was depicted fallen to the chase.. as the murals tried to explained to them.
Deeper into the dungeon's shadows. they passed countless passages, each leading to who knows where, or what. They eventually make it to what is likely the final room. A large granite door blocks your path. Various odd symbols are all over it, somehow untouched by time and the elements. Aiden stepped closer to inspect it and.. wait.. was that a growl coming from behind the door?
Later on, as Aiden takes a small breath in between his running, he thinks back as a Minotaur breaks the last door in the dungeon, everyone for himself then occurs as every combatants found out that their skills are locked except the movement skills and they realize the purpose of the dungeon.
It was a hide and seek chasing game. The interior soon changed for the seven of them as each of them found on their back 7 lanes had formed. “What do you choose, 6 of us and 1 Minotaur will hunt us.. all I care for now is to run.. said one of the combatants as he swiftly dashing towards a lane,” stealing a head start. Without any more words, all six of them then dashed forward into other lanes.
2 Minutes later, a roar so loud reverberates along every lane which makes the runner shiver but keep their feet running… The chaser has been released. It has been 20 hours since then
“My feet were hitting the harsh concrete beneath me, my legs freely swinging. I saw the end of the building ahead, but if I timed it correctly, I could jump onto the next passage.
I stopped running, staring at the edge of the building, tears in my eyes. If I failed, I could die.
"Hey! Stop!" I heard. It was another combatant. Aiden inhaled, and ran as fast as he could.
He jumped, with arms in midair, his stomach felt as though it were flying away from his body as a harsh wind blew him out to another path. Shit! Aiden cursed as his body entered another path. “My feet were looking for a sturdy support now. The air was cool. It means I am safe for some minutes now. and then he landed with a harsh pain in his ankles. "Damnit." Aiden turned around to see if the other combatant was following, and there he was, about to run straight slamming at him. Aiden quickly moves out and catches the other's body.. "Now, the fun begins."
"Hey!" We met again.
"Hello." I yelled behind me. Let’s rest for now, I am exhausted.
“It caught up to me before, and grabbed my elbow before I jumped off this one and got blown by the wind before I saw it blown away in another direction. I looked to see where I would land. If I looked before I jumped, I could land in a lake. If I don't, I could land on the concrete, but I saw you blown away and I just decided to follow you, luckily the wind changed after that.
"Stop speaking." Aiden said. I looked into his emerald eyes, when I could. Otherwise, he will talk nonstop.
"How the hell do you run so fast?"
"I run everyday. Constantly running away from Falkrontol on his daily training."
"How do you disappear? at our first junction??"
"If I told you, you'd know-"
"That's the point." He grasped my arm firmly, stronger than before as he sounded frightened as he was almost captured several times already not included a few minutes ago.
"I- uh- I'm not tellin-"
"If you don't tell, I'll take you in, and it'll do worse than this."
"I'll take my chances." I shook off his arm, and sat down.
Wait, did you remember there are only 3 people left? The other 3 have already been caught.
Let’s stick together, I am the bearer to the house of Honesty, Froed. He then showed him his mark.
Listening to his plea, Aiden then chose to stick together with him, not because he trusts him but he trusts His House Name.
Another 15 hours later, both of them are separated once more.
"I'll make it. I'll make it. I'll make it." I repeated as I fell, my hair running behind me. "I'll make i-"
another 20 hours later…
Aiden started to whisper before his feet lost their footings. Water clogged his mouth, as soon as his body rushed for any way up. He tried to yell, but nothing came. He swam to the top as fast as he could, his head was full of many things as he already had horrible anxiety.
Suddenly a hand was grabbing his hair and pulled him out of the water. It was the one from the house of Honesty.
Atelerix represent Loyalty, Froed represent Honesty, Traust represent Success , Reidi represent Forthright, Aestr represent Courage, Hefnd represent Gallantry and Duna represent Honor.
“thank you…” Aiden coughing some water out. Am I trustworthy now Aiden? asked the other man, Hugo.
Hugo offered his hand slowly. "You don't need to know my name. I just have to help you." He looks at our hands together.
He closes his eyes when I reach up...
Aiden brings his face up to look at him and shakes his hand... both of them then enter a safe house.
“We are lucky, this one says 26 hours, it means we can get enough rest, as 13 hours is enough for both of us if divided equally.” The maze have some save house where people can use to rest and replenish their energy and be avoided by the chase of the minotaurs, it’s just at the first 20 hours, no save house is present, and if there are more occupant in the save house, the time will be divided equally, they learned about this after the second time they found an 8 hour save house which is gone in 4 hours later.
"How long of a headstart should I give?" Asked Hugo later
"Mm. 5 seconds?" replied Aiden.
"Now… let’s just rest our body to its peak condition, I believe the other one should find a safe house too. I didn't see anyone else besides you and the report still says 3 survivors.”
Aiden and Hugo then go to sleep.
Another 65 hours later,
"Why don't you ever stop running?"
"Why don't you ever stop chasing me?" Aiden snarked back at the minotaur who was panting on the ground below the house where he stood on the roof.
"..fair point.."
"But really, why do you chase me? You've shown you have the power to kill before." Aiden asked while panting…
"Are you asking me to kill you?" The Minotaur couldn't help but laugh.
"Oh goodness no! I just wonder why you don't try. Is it because you're secretly fond of our little game?"
"I'm more exhausted than anything.." Aiden grumbled, and suddenly got an idea.
"Then let's put an end to it shall we?" Aiden jumps down from the roof landing in front of the minotaur as elegantly as always.
"What are you talking about?" he smirked.
Aiden also smirks, holding the minotaur hands in front of him.
"Take me in, you've caught me"
"Wha- I have not!"
"Oh my my. So I can't just turn myself in? Does that ruin the fun for you?. Do you crave the thrill of catching me ~" Aiden teases watching as the Minotaur went red in the face from either anger or embarrassment.
"You're talking nonsense"
"No, I'm talking perfect sense and you can't handle it." Aiden said, pointing directly at the minotaur's nose. The Minotaur tried to bear hug Aiden all of the sudden but all he hug is a smoke decoy
“You are the last one”
"Huh?. What? Hey, get back here!" Fuck! He is truly stupid, The Trickster laugh hard
and the chase continued.
The last hundred yards are not for slowing down, but for pushing harder and moving faster. It hurt, especially in the one-mile run because Aiden was already experiencing extreme exhaustion.
“How could I possibly move faster than I did at the beginning of the race when I was so tired and so thirsty? I knew though, that I could do it, because the temporary pain would be quickly replaced with feelings of accomplishment.”
In front of him, Aiden sees the entry point, he runs faster with every last breath that he had. But suddenly, his spine feels cold. Another sound of running fast is closing in.
As he approached the light in the end of the maze, he pumped up all his energy on his body to his legs.
But as his body was about to exit the dungeon, his body was caught by eight hands and the exit was blocked by someone.
The four people suddenly hold Aiden’s body and pinned him down. Aiden tried to free himself, when he heard a voice he knew. “Calm down Aiden, just listen to us first.” Hugo speaks. “Hugo, is that you? Wait, you all five are here? What happened?” Aiden was confused. “Gentlemen, let’s release him first.” Hugo says as the others release their locks on Aiden’s body. Aiden turned his body and lay down on the ground, exhausted. “Well, we all have been tricked since the beginning…” Hugo seems ashamed admitting something. Suddenly, The Minotaur came and laughed hard at Aiden. “ Let me rephrase the words, All your running is for naught, but still i enjoyed the game…” Hugo then explained that the first one who run away as he informed them that this is a game of chase and run actually the minotaur himself, as he caught the first one as he is the one in the back all alone guarding everyone, we all are so focused on the murals so our cognitive mind react when we are told to run for a game ad
Seven lean, square towers dwarf everything below them and are connected by giant, solid walls made of white marble.Stylish windows are scattered here and there around the walls in seemingly perfect symmetry, along with symmetric crenelations for archers and artillery.A huge gate with hefty wooden doors, a regular bridge and various artillery equipment guards the last stronghold along this rough shoreline and it's the only way in, at least to those unfamiliar with the castle and its surroundings.Various large houses are scattered outside the castle gates, surprisingly the rich are comfortable with living outside the gates as well. This castle looks very new, but without knowing its history it's impossible to tell if it's a newly built castle or a well kept one.Aiden was walking towards a door, this is another part of God’s Abode. His mind is empty at the moment, but his heart grows restless… he only wears a simple garment, a white shirt and brown leather pants. nothing more…Pushin
"Are you full?" Aiden clapped his hands and asked. He and Rena stopped for a while and talked about Sylgarth, Rena then extracted some knowledge about Sylgarth from Aiden’s memory with a unique magic inborn for technomagi golems, Intelligence Sharing. "I'm done, my lord," Rena said. "Let's go then, I hope to find a village or town today and find out where we are..." Aiden sighed. "Okay sir," Rena replied as she put down the fire and conceal it with some dirt to avoid wildfire since that is the first thing Aiden asked him to do when they entered the forest. … Aiden and Rena run for about 100 minutes with some breaks in between to recover their breathing... "My lord! We may be in trouble!" Suddenly Rena stopped Aiden's footsteps… "This is the dung of the Gray Warg!" After scanning and pointing at the dung on the left path behind the stones Rena explained. "So..." Aiden looked ugly. "That's right, there is half-humanoid wolf cavalry in the vicinity!" He realized that Intelligen
Ten Minutes Later, After Rena and Aiden settle the minor issues...Rena and Aiden then get out of the underground dungeon to the surface and check the surroundings.“All Clear, Dad!” Rena said.Let’s Go, asked Aiden while sheathing his dagger back. They started to walk towards the forest and keep walking, avoiding every danger along the way.…5 days later…"Damn, this is the village?" Aiden thought it was because of his eyes. But the village's condition is so bad like a heavy war just struck them flat, many buildings are broken here a
The bard speaks slowly, the story I'm about to tell you is about those who we call gods. Listen carefully lads, as this is the true story… and no elder ever remembers about this story since the beginning of the abandonment era. Only the chosen one such as myself knows the truth of the beginning era because I read the book of old days glory in our library. Long ago, in a time before thought, there was only a globe in which all creation was mixed in the whole multiverse. As there was nothing with which to compare it, the globe was big and small, dark and bright, everything and nothing. One Quadtrilenials as the time of stars begin to shine, the single globe separated into many single universes and one is our world. Over a hundred million years, the globe began to grow, and eventually, two powers slowly began to form within.<
Aiden is lost in his sleep before Rena wakes him up. “What’s up Rena?” “The village is surrounded, be prepared” Aiden quickly moves up and perks up his ears but finds that the village is quiet. He tried to smell the air outside… “This smell… this is bad, it’s Lizardmen.” Ambush!! Ambush!! The town guard screamed before he was shot down from the sentry tower. Suddenly the sound of Bell rang as the lizardmen swarmed the village. Every fighter and able bodies on their feet started to fight and repel the Lizardmens. Apparen
The bard some times later, came and woke Aiden up when he saw him under the tree after the sun set high up.“Young one, you were something else indeed last night, do you want me to continue last night's story? I am about to depart the village tomorrow, I will tell you the last part of the forbidden story of gods before I go…”Awakened from his sleep, Aiden looked back at the bard and nodded, please.. continue your story…The bard then sat under the tree and started to retold the story…Eztess was a god of destruction. When he saw the work of Ivhir, he became curious and jealous. He imitated Ivhir and created a form in his own image. Ivhir and Eztess searched everywhere in the continent and finally found the lake in which Allyse was hiding."Allyse, look what happened because you avoided your responsibility. You are destroying the harmony of this continent that we created with all of our efforts. I will not tolerate it if you continue to disobey me." Ivhir was so enraged that her eyes burned bright with roaring flames.Due to the floods, countless giants and living creatures departed to Vexira's underworld. This made Ivhir very envious of Vexira. Trembling with fear, Allyse ended up surrendering to her mother. When Allyse took over her authority to adjust the waters, the disasters gradually ceased. As Azkia's determination burned within her, she made a bold decision to confront Gilgash head-on, disregarding the overwhelming odds stacked against her. With every ounce of strength and resilience, she charged towards the Orc Lord, her eyes fixed on his enraged visage. Azkia's mind is running at full speed thinking... As I fought on, my thoughts raced amidst the chaos of battle. The toll of the prolonged and intense clash with Gilgash was becoming evident in my weary body. Fatigue crept in, slowing my movements and dulling my reflexes. I could feel the weight of exhaustion settling upon me, threatening to sap my strength. But I refused to let weariness overcome me. I had a duty to protect Stormhaven Port, and I would not allow fatigue to cloud my judgment or weaken my resolve. I reminded myself of the lives depending on me, the city relying on my unwavering determination. Each labored breath served as a reminder of the importance of the task at hand. I acknowledged the reality of
The battlefield crackled with tension as Azkia faced off against Gilgash, their gazes locked in a fierce struggle. The air grew heavy with anticipation, both combatants fully aware that this was the defining moment of their clash. Azkia's eyes shimmered with determination as she tapped into the depths of her power. A surge of energy coursed through her veins, and her body glowed with an ethereal light. She raised her arms toward the heavens, calling upon the celestial forces that governed the universe. Above them, the night sky seemed to respond. Stars blazed brighter, their light intensifying until it filled the atmosphere. A cascade of twinkling luminescence rained down upon the battlefield, bathing the area in a mystical glow. It was the manifestation of Azkia's Nature Stargazer ability—the legendary rain of stars. Gilgash, initially taken aback by this display of power, recovered quickly, his determination undeterred. With a bellowing roar, he charged toward Azkia, swinging his
Amidst the chaos of the battlefield, Azkia locked eyes with Gilgash, a sly smile curling at the corner of her lips. She let out a mocking chuckle, her body language displaying a hint of cheekiness and wit."You call yourself an orc lord?" Azkia taunted, her voice carrying above the din of battle. "Yet here you stand, too afraid to defend your honor and tarnish the traditions of our ancestors."Gilgash's face contorted with anger and disgust at Azkia's words, his body language betraying his fury. "You know nothing of our traditions, human," he retorted, his voice venomous. "Your feeble attempts at mockery will not save you from the inevitable."Azkia's smile widened, her body language exuding confidence as she continued to goad Gilgash. "Oh, I know more than you think," she replied, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "I know that real orc warriors don't cower behind their armies. They face their enemies head-on, defending their honor with every ounce of their being.
In the dimly lit infirmary of Stormhaven Port, Sorisana knelt beside a wounded soldier, her gentle hands meticulously tending to his injuries. Aera stood nearby, a solemn expression etched across her face, her eyes reflecting the weight of the ongoing battle outside the walls. As the sounds of distant clashes and the echoes of war reached their ears, Aera turned to Sorisana, her voice tinged with sadness and weariness. "It seems the city is being tested to its limits," she sighed, her eyes filled with a mixture of concern and determination. "These brave warriors fighting for their home deserve our utmost admiration."Sorisana glanced up from her task, her gaze meeting Aera's, a flicker of surprise crossing her features. "Indeed," she replied softly, her voice carrying a melancholic undertone. "The suffering and sacrifice that accompany war are heavy burdens to bear. It pains me to see so many lives torn asunder by this relentless conflict."As they spoke, a sudd
Under the cover of darkness, a group of warriors gathered at a secluded spot within the city, their faces etched with determination and their eyes gleaming with the fiery resolve of their mission. Led by Azkia, they huddled together, their voices hushed yet filled with purpose.Azkia, her gaze fierce and commanding, addressed her fellow warriors. "Our objective is clear. We must sever the orc supply line and leave them starving and desperate. The destruction of their provisions will weaken their resolve and give us the upper hand."The warriors nodded in agreement, their anticipation palpable in the air. They began to strategize, pointing at various points on a map, and discussing the best locations to strike and set ablaze."We should target the main supply depot," suggested one warrior, his voice brimming with confidence. "Burning it down will create chaos and panic among the orc ranks."Another warrior chimed in, "We should also focus on cutting off th
Gilgash, the mighty Orc Lord, stood before the war council, his eyes ablaze with the fire of conquest. He surveyed the ongoing assault on Stormhaven Port with a mixture of satisfaction and anticipation. The council members, adorned in battle-worn armor, gathered around him, eager to hear their leader's next plan."Warriors of the Horde," Gilgash boomed, his voice carrying the weight of authority. "Our assault on Stormhaven Port has brought the walls to their knees, but victory still eludes us. The defenders have proven to be stubborn and resourceful, but we shall not be deterred. We will press our advantage and crush their resistance!"A hushed murmur spread through the council as they exchanged glances, fueled by their leader's fierce determination. Gilgash continued, his words echoing with unwavering confidence."Our catapults have weakened their defenses, but we must be cautious. Stormhaven Port is no ordinary city. They have warriors of great skill and resil
The siege began with a cacophony of war cries, the thundering of hooves, and the deafening clash of metal against metal. The orcs surged forward, a relentless wave crashing upon the city's defenses. Their ranks seemed endless, their determination unyielding.Catapults hurled massive boulders and fiery projectiles, crashing into the walls with bone-shaking force. The stone fortifications trembled under the assault, cracks spiderwebbing across the surface. Yet, the defenders of Stormhaven Port stood firm, their resolve unbroken. From the ramparts, archers unleashed a volley of arrows, creating a lethal rain that found its mark among the orc ranks. Swords clashed, spears thrust, and shields held strong as the defenders fought valiantly to repel the invaders. The clash of steel reverberated through the streets, echoing with the cries of warriors and the screams of the dying. The air was thick with the acrid scent of blood and smoke, each breath a reminder of the grim reality that envelope
The grand hall of the Orc Lord Gilgash's stronghold resonated with the echoes of heavy footsteps as Angkor and Scortan entered, their armor clinking with each stride. The room was dimly lit, save for the flickering torches that cast dancing shadows upon the stone walls.Gilgash, a towering figure with bulging muscles and a battle-scarred face, sat upon a throne adorned with the bones of defeated enemies. His eyes burned with a fierce intensity as he regarded the two orc commanders approaching him."Angkor, Scortan," Gilgash boomed, his voice carrying the weight of authority. "Report. What did you uncover about Stormhaven Port?"Angkor stepped forward, his gaze unwavering. "My Lord, we launched our initial probe as planned. Stormhaven Port's defenses proved to be formidable. The defenders fought with unmatched skill and resilience. Their archers rained arrows upon us, and their warriors stood strong in the face of our assault."Scortan, standing beside Ang
Angkor and Scortan crouched behind a dense thicket, their eyes fixed upon the towering walls of Stormhaven Port City in the distance. The air crackled with anticipation as they discussed their plans for the impending invasion. Angkor, a burly Orc with a scarred face and a twisted tusk, spoke with a low, gravelly voice."Scortan, this city is ripe for the taking," Angkor growled, his voice laced with a mix of excitement and greed. "The humans have grown complacent, and their defenses weakened. It's our chance to claim this place as our own."Scortan, a wiry Orc with sharp features and keen eyes, nodded in agreement, his lips curling into a sinister grin. "Aye, Angkor, their defenses are a shadow of what they once were. We've scouted their patrols, learned their weaknesses. The time to strike is now."Angkor's hands clenched into tight fists as he stared at the city gates. "Once Stormhaven Port falls, the surrounding lands will be ours for the taking. Riches, plunder, and the spoils of
