Following the orders of his Alpha, the beta watched the kids as they climbed through the forest. The beta smelled a very weak scent of a strix. His nose was finely tuned, but most of these kids might miss it.They shouldn't have volunteered, but now that the runts were here, he had a job to do. He could be out having a good day with his mate, but no. She was going to give him hell when he got back, but there was nothing he could do beside telling her to take it up with their alpha."Please don't beat me," he mumbled to himself, watching as the teenagers gathered.
