: Cyrus Vs Angel

"So let me get this straight. I go inside a dungeon and can only come out when the boss is dead, and also the dungeons connect with the angels' world, so if I see anyone I kill them."

Cy summarized all that Alpha had told him. It wasn't a big deal and easy to remember, but Alpha wouldn't stop hugging his arm and saying "Bossie… You're so smart."

The two of them were walking along the streets, heading towards a blue-black portal not far from the construction site up ahead.

Overall, Cy got a chance to explore this new world, and from what he saw, there were no modern cars. This world had yet to invent things like that; the only vehicles were those with huge circles of steel tires (carts) with engines.

The dress was a bit similar to that of his world, but almost everyone could be seen with armor and blades. There were no smartphones, but there was the telephone, and the buildings were a bit modern and tall too.

'This feels like I'm living in the past,' thought Cy.

Both of them came to a halt when they reached a few meters away from the construction site. They couldn't go any further, though, because yellow tape with a stop sign was surrounding the portal.

"Hey you two, you've got business with the dungeon?" asked a fat man holding some sort of device.

"And here I thought there was no such thing as technology."

The man came close to them, and with a glance, he was able to tell Cy wasn't a demon, unlike the girl beside him. "You're one of the summons?"

Cyrus gave Alpha, who was still holding onto his blue sweater, a look. He stared back at the man and responded, "Yes."

Beep... Beep...!

The man lofted the device, and a blue ray scanned Cyrus down to his toe. The device displayed Cyrus' status and rank and if he was authorized to enter a dungeon.

The fat man blinked twice as he looked at the device he was holding. An E-rank skill. When was the last time something like this ever happened? Normally, those who were summoned were said to have one of the strongest innate potentials.

For a summon to have an E-rank skill was a thing that no one would even think of imagining.

'Christ, this guy is pretty weak… May the demon overlord be with him if he comes across angels.'

After that, a red photobeam escaped the man's finger and sliced through the yellow tape, implying Cy and Alpha could go in.

"Well, you're clean, but be careful, your skill is pretty weak... You're pretty weak," said the fat man with a serious expression.

Cy glanced at the portal as if it was calling him. Without hesitation, they both walked through the portal, and whoosh, it closed as if it was never there, only to open if the owner was killed.

Cy and Alpha found themselves in a cave-like structure. Cy veered his neck around and saw there was nothing behind him but a coarse wall.

'Should I just stand here? I'm feeling a bit pressured all of a sudden,' thought Cyrus.

However, he took a bold step forward, and it started becoming slow deliberate steps. It got to a point where Alpha could have sworn she heard something following them behind.

But if she turned around, whatever wasn't there, and it would seem like a vivid illusion.

Again she heard the same sound, and within a nanosecond of her speed, Cy turned around to see what was coming from behind.

"Bossie," yelled Alpha.

She let go of Cyrus, and a blade materialized within her grip... Baam, with that blade, connected it and blocked it against the red-scale-humongous lizard tail that was coming in for Cyrus' head.

"Uh?" Cy turned around and saw Alpha holding a blade. He would have been confused, but it's a magic world, so getting a blade from nowhere should be normal.

But a humongous demon lizard in front of them was one abnormal thing he was sure of.

When he glanced back at Alpha, the girl's attitude had changed from friendly to deadly, the stern look she was giving the demon in front of them was as if she had activated instant kill mode.

After a few seconds of stare battle, Alpha bolted towards the demon. In a split second, she gained maximum terminus and slashed her blade vertically with a crimson photobeam.

KaBoom...!

Rocks elevated in the sky, and the ground cracked. When the dust settled, the demon was cut in half with her blade dripping with the purple blood of the demon.

"Crap, she's fast with a blade," muttered Cyrus.

Alpha turned around and saw Cyrus was already close to her, the only thing separating these two was the little air that was finding it difficult to pass through.

Oxytocin had kicked in when Cy's blue eyes connected with Alpha's purple eyes, they were so close to connecting their lips and letting that sweet taste take control.

That is until KaBoom...! A humongous spider burst its way through the wall and scattered rock pebbles around.

Its six crimson eyes stared viciously at Cy and Alpha, who didn't even flinch when the spider had burst through the wall.

Of course, the spider wasn't going to allow them or wait till they kissed each other, so it crawled with those tiny long legs towards them and launched itself screeching.

However, KaBoom... An energetic male figurine with blonde hair came out of nowhere and landed a devastating punch against the spider's cranium.

Smashing the beast to the ground as the guy's punch sank in, causing the expiration of the spider demon.

That's what stopped Cy and Alpha, the sense of an angel. And the angel was smiling, grinning on top of the dead spider's back.

He was in a modern black tuxedo while grinning devilishly at Cy and Alpha, who were staring at him.

"I know you're both from the demons… So let's make this quick, shall we?" said the angel.
