After repeating the name twice in the low tone without getting a response, his fear increased in a very great manner, as he could feel a sudden cold all over his body as he lost the guts to speak another word. He was now very quiet, putting his ears on the ground to check if he would hear any footsteps which he could track and believe were the footsteps of Eric and the orc. Those words were made to put fear in Eric concerning going back, but instead of fear, it started up in him the kind of courage and boldness which he was yet to confirm was really in him due to the doubts of his ability. Eric definitely understood that those words were an insult to him, and that was the limit which he had warned the orc not to cross in the first place. How this was known was because as the orc finished saying those words, he did not have to say another word but saw himself stretch forth his staff as words which he knew not about to proceed out of his mouth and it was realized that those were not just mere words but magical codes that gave rise to magical spells. It was as though it was the magic he needed to perform as those words produced several fire balls that lightened up the cave portion where he had been for over thirty minutes exchanging words with the orc. As he walked some distance into the direction which he had taken, he was not having the thoughts to change direction again because he had come before several turns yet had not taken any. Thus he felt it was time he took one. But he was confused on which direction to take since his heart began to play games on him again. He would take a few steps left, yet would stop and turn to the opposite direction, taking some steps leftwards again. He continued like this in confusion for a good time to the point that he even thought of going backwards. Through all the thoughts coming into his mind on where to continue, the only direction that was not coming into his mind was to proceed with the direction which he had been walking towards for the past two hours. With these words coming back into his heart, he now began to believe them as he concluded that what he was pursuing was none of the beings he had thought it to be. Yet a question kept resounding in his heart, "if that is a terrifying monster as the orc had said, why then is it running away from me?" The question that came into his heart was one that is bent on making him continue in pursuit of whatever was making the noise which he was following. Coming some distance away from the spot where he encountered those troubles, he came before a parting in the route of the cave of which from his experience so far and the little he observed from the looks of the cave, that there was going to be a lot more diversions and parting in the two routes before him. Back inside the cave where Eric was still searching for Zach with the lamp in his hands, but at this point he had stopped calling out his name since no one was answering his call and he was quite tired of shouting Zach’s name. It took almost over five hours before the detective in charge of interrogating the suspect came out to meet Eric Claus and Chase Stevens in the police station. "I thought you were asked to leave?" he asked, to my surprise. His question called their attention, so they looked up in shock but without fear since they had committed no offense by staying. “Just before you woke up,” Chase began, “He told Lauren and I that he would be removing you from life support because his test showed that you would never wake up again. But upon coming to see you in the ward, we found you awake, that is to say he has found out that you would be waking up any time soon so he wanted to prevent it from happening. When I asked him how it was possible that someone who he presumed to never wake up again was awake and sound, he said he didn’t know and would do some research that would explain it scientifically. The doctor ran another test on Eric Claus early the next morning to confirm whether he was fully fit to leave the hospital and still his results were positive that he did not see any other reason to keep Eric there in the hospital. So he had to break the good news about his discharge so he could prepare to go home. Towards the evening hours of the day, Chase was there with Lauren and Jodie to pick Eric from the hospital and take home. The monitor attached to Eric Claus began to beep loudly, alerting the nurses and medical personnel nearby to hurriedly come check on him and find out what was the cause of the sudden beeping of the monitor. The first nurse that ran in noticed his temperature was burning beyond normal and it was something beyond her skills so she rushed out to call the doctor in charge of his treatment while another nurse that followed after her tried to stabilize the situation pending the doctor’s arrival. In a few minutes the doctor came in to check on him and saw that it was more than a normal burning for someone in his condition, and something he hasn’t seen before throughout his entire career, but that was not going to prevent from running some quick test on him.
