Now Morgan did not need to say the word ‘attack’ before they moved out against the enemy. What he did was to make the first move himself, and the rest of the soldiers followed suit. While the foot soldiers attacked the creatures, the archers did not cease to fire their arrows as that was the only way they could help. Since it has been two days since they came out of the cave without seeing Zach, Eric now said to himself as he gave up the hope that Zach was ever coming out of the cave any time soon. “I promise to bring your son back to Palind. The orc was happy that Eric was leaving it there, therefore it was now free from its bondage. It did not make the move to run off immediately so that it will not draw the attention of Eric. He ignored the voice this time even when it was recognizable to belong to his friend. He felt it was the voice of those beasts just as the orc had told him, and adding this to what he had seen and encountered in that place, he would never turn back to answer the voice. "Okay," Eric finally agreed to what Zach was requesting and then helped him get on his feet. It was at this point when he was helping him to stand up that Eric realized that Zach had broken his right leg and would not be able to walk out of the woods unless he was treated even if it was not completely, at least to a point, because even standing up was a problem. Despite how Zach kept looking around in fear, Eric still did not know that he had to stop whatever he was doing so that they would leave the place. Since Zach was not able to move without his aid, he was not bothered at all. Most of all, he believed that what he was doing was for his own good and not even his. It took almost over five hours before the detective in charge of interrogating the suspect came out to meet Eric Claus and Chase Stevens in the police station. “Just before you woke up,” Chase began, “He told Lauren and I that he would be removing you from life support because his test showed that you would never wake up again. But upon coming to see you in the ward, we found you awake, that is to say he has found out that you would be waking up any time soon so he wanted to prevent it from happening. When I asked him how it was possible that someone who he presumed to never wake up again was awake and sound, he said he didn’t know and would do some research that would explain it scientifically. The doctor ran another test on Eric Claus early the next morning to confirm whether he was fully fit to leave the hospital and still his results were positive that he did not see any other reason to keep Eric there in the hospital. Due to the looks on both Lauren and Chase’s face, the doctor could tell what they were thinking but he could not concur with it. “That is not possible.” He opened the door and to his greatest surprise, it was exactly as he had read from the faces of Chase and Lauren, so he froze at the entrance. The monitor attached to Eric Claus began to beep loudly, alerting the nurses and medical personnel nearby to hurriedly come check on him and find out what was the cause of the sudden beeping of the monitor. The first nurse that ran in noticed his temperature was burning beyond normal and it was something beyond her skills so she rushed out to call the doctor in charge of his treatment while another nurse that followed after her tried to stabilize the situation pending the doctor’s arrival. In a few minutes the doctor came in to check on him and saw that it was more than a normal burning for someone in his condition, and something he hasn’t seen before throughout his entire career, but that was not going to prevent from running some quick test on him.
