Asking a series of questions at the same time made it impossible for Eric to know and decide which one to answer and which not to, so he chose not to answer any of the questions, and in place of an answer he said. “What other choice do we have?”

His reply was very much perfect because if things were viewed from the other perspective. They truly do not have a choice than to follow the other. Eric following the orc without asking question was not because he was not feeling the same way as Zach, rather it was because he had asked himself all those questions in silence and had predicted all possible answers that the orc would give to him to see they will still end in him continuing to following the creature so he had to save the energy which would be use to ask to those questions and probably enter into an argument that may not help them and their mission in anyway. What he did was to ensure that the orc was with them and would not by any means want to outsmart them by doing something fun
