Zagthak after leaving his men in the war front to perish, he took a turn around the country and came to Riverston where the ogres had camped. The ogres came to the city of Riverston to drive out its inhabitants just as the orcs had done in Oldgriffin and Newgriffin, but the humans were already gone by the time they arrived so they knew the humans were up to something to have abandoned their lands like that.Zagthak had planned with the ogre leader to take out the city of Riverston while they took out Ironbrook and the two griffin cities as they did. Coming into the city of Riverston to see that the ogres had dominated the place, Zagthak thought they were successful in the overtaking of the city. On the side of the ogre leader, he knew something was wrong when the city was abandoned so seeing Zagthak come into the city alone without any escort, he could confirm what he had suspected when he came into the city. Nevertheless, he still waited to hear what Zagthak had to say before airing
Though Zagthak had acted tough and unaffected when Hillslayer announced his forfeiting from the fight, he began down immediately the ogres were gone out of sight. Everything in him felt weak, and he was a bit confused on what to do next in order to win the fight as he still meditated on what Hillslayer said before leaving. It took a while before he could regain his full self. Spending so long alone in the city of Riverston, he later got up at dusk, prepared himself and moved to the city of Northby where he would meet his other allies. The journey to Northby was quite slow since he moved alone, but he still got there anyways. The city was void of humans as expected, still he couldn’t predict that what Hillslayer told him about Riverston had also happened there in Northby. Zagthak made some awful noise which was a sound he used in announcing his presence to that set of allies. After the noise, there was still no response or sign to show that his allies were there as expected. So he ch
After the victory in the city of Newgriffin and Oldgriffin, though, the soldiers were still very agile to march to another city and retake it. They were ready to continue into another battle without resting, but King Luca was not going to allow that to happen. He ordered that they take some moments to rest so as to avoid fainting in the field when they go up against their enemies. While they observed the little rest as they also prepared to march out again at dawn to reclaim another city which their enemy had dominated, King Luca had to bring up the unfinished conversation which he was having with Eric before it was changed. “Eric, you still did not tell me why you seem unhappy after the fight.” “Of course I was happy.” Eric still chose to keep what was going through his mind to himself. “Come on Eric, I know it when you are hiding something and this is one of those times. Talk to me.” Luca kept persuading him. The moment Eric was about to open up to the King, Zach walked in.
Next Eric was sitting with Harris alone even as the soldiers got ready to march for the next city that would be retaken from the orcs. They were talking about a lot of things that were not pertaining to Eric’s departure and Harris had no reason to think of such. He just saw the sitting together as a casual thing because they were friends. Not until one of the soldiers came close and said to Eric Claus, “Sir, we are ready to move when you are ready sir.” “What of his Majesty?” Eric asked the soldier because the king should be the one to give the command on moving out and not him. “Your wish is his command. He is waiting for you.” “In that case, I will be with him shortly.” Eric answered and the soldier walked away to bring his response to King Luca Cole. With the message that was delivered by the soldier, Harris termed their discussion to have come to an end since they had other pressing matters to handle because the topic of their discussion wasn’t too important. So Harris got u
After Harris was out of sight, Zachary Hawkins changed the pretentious discussion. “The King will now see you Eric.” “Okay.” Eric said as they both head to meet with King Luca Cole. In a couple of minutes they were in the king’s presence and Eric said. “Your majesty, you asked to speak with me.” “Yes,” Luca turned towards him. “We are ready to move out, so we want to know if you are set.” “Ermmm….” Eric stammered because he had not told the King about his soon departure and as Zach had advised, it was wise for him to tell the king that he would soon be leaving the country Palind back to his world. he struggled to get the right words to break the news he had for Luca but his facial expression already foretold that what he was trying to say was not something pleasant to be heard. “It’s okay, Eric, you can spit it out and stop bordering on how I will take it.” Luca encouraged him to speak and stopped holding his words. With the readiness and willingness of King Luca Cole to hear wh
After the conversation and argument had come to an end by those words of Eric, the four of them came out of the room to meet General Aaron Gordon, General Morgan Elliot and Prince Reece Cole who were waiting for them outside. “Let’s move out.” King Luca gave the command which they have all been waiting for all these while. Afterwards they got their horses and led the soldiers out of the city of Griffins. Harris had not taken his mind off from what Eric told him, so he was still waiting to hear the outcome of Eric’s discussion with his father. So as they headed for the city of Ironbrook, he rushed forward, coming close to his father and asked in a low tune since he also thought it to be a secret. “Father, how did it go?” Zach’s mind was no longer on that, he did not perceive Harris to keep thinking of that, so he asked back as he looked into his son’s eyes curiously. “How did what go?” Still wanting to keep it a secret, Harris did not answer that question with words but with an ey
The monitor attached to Eric Claus began to beep loudly, alerting the nurses and medical personnel nearby to hurriedly come check on him and find out what was the cause of the sudden beeping of the monitor. The first nurse that ran in noticed his temperature was burning beyond normal and it was something beyond her skills so she rushed out to call the doctor in charge of his treatment while another nurse that followed after her tried to stabilize the situation pending the doctor’s arrival. In a few minutes the doctor came in to check on him and saw that it was more than a normal burning for someone in his condition, and something he hasn’t seen before throughout his entire career, but that was not going to prevent from running some quick test on him. The tests were all reporting strange feedback as they stabilized him with an injection to stop the burning. Soon he began to sweat which was still strange to the professionals. “He is dying,” The doctor gave the only explanation he co
Due to the looks on both Lauren and Chase’s face, the doctor could tell what they were thinking but he could not concur with it. “That is not possible.” He opened the door and to his greatest surprise, it was exactly as he had read from the faces of Chase and Lauren, so he froze at the entrance. Seeing the manner in which the doctor became static, Chase and Lauren looked into the room, lo and behold, it was Eric Claus awake and talking to his daughter Jodie Eric. They too could not move for a moment and were short of words to say until Jodie saw them standing static at the door post and said. “Aunt Lauren, look, dad is awake.” “Of course he is…” Lauren replied as he slowly took some steps closer to the bed Eric was lying on. Eric then turned to the door and saw both his boss and the doctor. He was surprised to see Chase Stevens there instead of being in the company. He knew quite well what happened to him and did not need much explanation from them, he only asked one question perta
