After hearing these words from Eric, the chief was dumbfounded for some minutes. He now understood why despite how much he tries not to talk about it, he could not. For the singular fact that the soldiers had told them about him being in the right position to tell what is wrong with that place, he must do so because the soldier had confided in him, so he must not let them down.

"That land has taken several people away from this world." He began, "Those who planned on renovating the places say there are voices in the yard, and the moment you answer the voice, that I will be your end."

"Are you saying that the person vanished or what?" Zach asked to get a clearer understanding of what he was saying concerning his old house.

"Not really, but they always pass away at night after coming out of the place. Out of fear we stopped sending people into the land to work on the place."

Immediately, they all looked at Eric Claus, because from what the chief was saying he was going to die in a few m

Since they had left the house of the chief when the sky was still dark, they did not move at a fast pace. They had just left the city of Cliffsage, heading for the city of Newgriffin, when the skies began to brighten up. About some distance away from the Newgriffin, they saw a few riders heading towards them at great speed, so they had to stop for them to come close because it was sensed that they had an important message for them."Your majesty," the captain in the midst of the riders saluted as they came close before continuing with the message which had brought them since there was no need to be asked before speaking. "The dragon has been seen and there was news reaching us, telling us that you seek the dragon.""Where?!" King Luca asked at once. "Northby."Not waiting for further orders from the King outside the eyes which met with his own, General Aaron whistled as he waved his hand in the air, thereby drawing the attention of the army with them, then added with words. "Change

Even with the exclamation of Eric Claus and the manner in which the others stared at King Luca Cole, he had no intention of going back on his words. Instead he said to them, "These looks are not going to change my decision in any way so it is better you quit looking at me like and stay calm let's wait for the riders that will bring us news of the dragons location.""Are you sure we have the patience to wait that long?" Zach said to him."You better find a way to grow your patience. It is better we leave here with full confidence of where to find the dragon, than wander to the last place where the draft would think of going. The commander had just said that his men would come here in less than no time. However, it's late and I bet we all need rest.""And what if the soldiers don't come as supposed, are we still going to stay here forever without acting upon the latest information heard concerning this situation?" Eric wanted to hear some words which he could use to pin the King into do

Next they were all in a small circle as with the commander and the riders that just came in. One of them had just finished making the report of what had befallen their comrades. But the news which was heard about them and the dragon was one that made the ears of the five people who they told this to tingle. They had just narrated to them how the dragon attacked and consumed them with his breath. According to their words, the dragon had known about them keeping up tracks with it all along but refused to react as it waited for the right time to do so. And the time it did was actually the right time based on the dragon."What are we waiting for again?!" Eric Claus asked them at random as he saw the manner in which they all froze. He was probably the only one amongst them that did not feel the way they did and even himself could not tell what the cause yet he was sure that it was as a result of words which they said about him being a gift to them. He knew that there was more to why he had

Since King Luca had made the promise, Aaron and Zach did not need to think about it before giving their response. They chorused, "Yeah, we won't.""Fine," Eric was glad to hear that reply from them, so he continued with his explanation which they had given him the chance to do. "This is not the place to make a plan. Any plan should be made in the castle, so that it would not cost us much time to begin its execution. The news is that the dragon is heading for Raychester so it is expedient that we are there at the moment when it will strike, rather than I have a good plan yet we are not there to execute it by the time it attacks."Now it made sense to them why he had shuck to the saying that should leave Northby and go to Raychester. Therefore there was no more argument on this. The King told the commander to still keep his men at alert because other creatures can attack the city at any time, especially the trolls which are believed to have a camp at the borders of the city.Afterwards,

Harris was already about to make the report of what happened there to his father before the question was raised so it was not a problem for him, he answered at once. "It's the dragon. It's around." Zachary looked up to the sky and then around the surrounding area as he was now confused of what Harris was saying. His mind was that if the dragon was around, then the soldiers would be engaged in combat already instead of running here and there. Since he could not hear the sound of the dragon nor that of combat, he asked. "Where is it? I can't see nor hear it." "It was visible some moments ago. It flew over the camp about thrice today, and from what our teachers and superiors say, it is planning an attack as it is observing our status so as to know the best way to launch its attack on us." Now that was serious as Zach was charged in the spirit. He also knew the reason for the unordered movement of the soldiers. He discerned that they were preparing for war so that they would be in their

As they left the main castle, heading for the military camp, and where a good distance away, the dragon came into sight again from behind as he smashed the top of the castle, so that the wall broke, as the top was falling, breaking the walls below and causing the castle to fall, the dragon flew above the collapsing building again and unleashed it's fire breath on the castle to aid the collapsing of their great castle. At the sound of the collapsing castle, all eyes turned to the direction of Raychester castle, and since it was a building so tall that all eyes could see no matter your location as long as you were within Raychester, the collapsing was also seen by all men. and they could see the dragon pour out its fire on the castle. This terrible and horrifying sight, caused a great shout and cry in Raychester. It was known to everyone that saw the castle fall that hundreds of people were also going down with the castle. Amongst them was their Queen, because it was without a doubt tha

Since Aaron Gordon was the highest ranked officer in the troop, his instruction was obeyed without questioning, even though some of them still thought that Eric was the rider who is controlling the dragon on what to do and what not to do.While the soldiers did as General Aaron had ordered, Eric then gained enough distraction as he moved on the dragon's back from its trail end down to the neck joint. As he made this move on the dragon, the soldiers who were doubting who he was now believed what Aaron had said. They were able to discern that if he was the dragon rider in control of the dragon, then the dragon would not be seeking for means to throw him down. And for this reason, they did not give the dragon any chance to do what it had in mind. The fight was now tougher than the dragon had expected, so it was time it would leave the fight, but before doing so, it had to release another astonishing strike which was its fire breath which it had gathered, ready to pour out.Eric who was o

While his command was being carried out, he took the staff and went to meet Eric where he was lying on the ground since he kind of needed aid before he could get up and walk.As he came to the spot where Eric was lying, he sat on the ground beside him and said, "You did it, Eric."Eric, whose eyes were closed when Aaron drew near, had to open his eyes at the sound of those words and look at Aaron who made the pronouncement.Aaron intentionally did not touch Eric because he knew that it was merely closing of his eyes, because he had seen him when he fell from the dragon and tried standing up but couldn't. So he knew Eric was just resting, nothing more. As Eric opened his eyes and looked at him, he said again because those looks carried a question that needed to be answered and since he discerned what the question was, there was no need waiting for it to be put in words. "Can you give your aunt the phone?" "Eric, what's going on?" Lauren asked as soon as he received the phone from Jodie. "I promise I'll explain everything to you when I am bad. It took almost over five hours before the detective in charge of interrogating the suspect came out to meet Eric Claus and Chase Stevens in the police station. "I thought you were asked to leave?" he asked, to my surprise. His question called their attention, so they looked up in shock but without fear since they had committed no offense by staying. "Well," Chase began as he searched for the right words to say that would make the detective understand their reason for not going home as they were asked to. "We just couldn't leave." he said, still unable to find the best words. Eric had to help him out at this point even though he was not totally in support of them staying there for that long. "Were you people able to force the truth out of him? I just can't go home knowing that someone wants me dead and probably why?" That was a good reason to defend and justify their refusal to leave the station and the detective understood quite well so he did have to press further. "Well, you two

“Just before you woke up,” Chase began, “He told Lauren and I that he would be removing you from life support because his test showed that you would never wake up again. But upon coming to see you in the ward, we found you awake, that is to say he has found out that you would be waking up any time soon so he wanted to prevent it from happening. When I asked him how it was possible that someone who he presumed to never wake up again was awake and sound, he said he didn’t know and would do some research that would explain it scientifically. He still has not given any response with the claim that he was still doing his research with some of his colleagues.” Now Eric was getting a clear understanding of something that he never put into consideration before now. It was now clear to him why he had to leave the world of Palind, letting them complete the fight which was supposed to be concluded before his departure. So he had no reason to doubt the words and suspicions of Chase. “In that cas

The doctor ran another test on Eric Claus early the next morning to confirm whether he was fully fit to leave the hospital and still his results were positive that he did not see any other reason to keep Eric there in the hospital. So he had to break the good news about his discharge so he could prepare to go home. Towards the evening hours of the day, Chase was there with Lauren and Jodie to pick Eric from the hospital and take home. While Lauren and Jodie were with Eric in the room putting together his stuff for departure, Chase went to see the doctor. After a knock on the office door, he was asked to come in and the doctor was instantly eclipsed with shock. Immediately he saw that it was Chase who had come to his office. He knew they were done with all formalities already and he shouldn’t be there again. “Oh, Mr. Chase, is it you again? When he came into the room Eric was still gusting and laughing with his sister and daughter, Chase did not intend to disrupt that moment knowing how much such a moment felt for the family. “I am happy to see such smiles on your faces,” Chase said, “Permission to share at this moment?” “Sure you are free.” Eric answered with gladness. The fun moment lasted for a couple of hours, until it was getting late, so Lauren had to take Jodie home since they came right from school. “Jodie, I guess we should get going now.” “No, I want to spend more time with my dad.” Jodie refused because she didn’t want that moment to end. She was also scared that her father would go into a coma again. “Come on… you will have the time you want with him, he is not going anywhere. Besides, you haven’t gotten home since you closed from school today and you still have homework and school tomorrow.” Lauren gave her some reasons why they have to go home. Eric was quite happy to hear that Jodie has been going to

Due to the looks on both Lauren and Chase’s face, the doctor could tell what they were thinking but he could not concur with it. “That is not possible.” He opened the door and to his greatest surprise, it was exactly as he had read from the faces of Chase and Lauren, so he froze at the entrance. Seeing the manner in which the doctor became static, Chase and Lauren looked into the room, lo and behold, it was Eric Claus awake and talking to his daughter Jodie Eric. They too could not move for a moment and were short of words to say until Jodie saw them standing static at the door post and said. “Aunt Lauren, look, dad is awake.” “Of course he is…” Lauren replied as he slowly took some steps closer to the bed Eric was lying on. Eric then turned to the door and saw both his boss and the doctor. He was surprised to see Chase Stevens there instead of being in the company. The monitor attached to Eric Claus began to beep loudly, alerting the nurses and medical personnel nearby to hurriedly come check on him and find out what was the cause of the sudden beeping of the monitor. The first nurse that ran in noticed his temperature was burning beyond normal and it was something beyond her skills so she rushed out to call the doctor in charge of his treatment while another nurse that followed after her tried to stabilize the situation pending the doctor’s arrival. In a few minutes the doctor came in to check on him and saw that it was more than a normal burning for someone in his condition, and something he hasn’t seen before throughout his entire career, but that was not going to prevent from running some quick test on him. The tests were all reporting strange feedback as they stabilized him with an injection to stop the burning. Soon he began to sweat which was still strange to the professionals. “He is dying,” The doctor gave the only explanation he co

After the conversation and argument had come to an end by those words of Eric, the four of them came out of the room to meet General Aaron Gordon, General Morgan Elliot and Prince Reece Cole who were waiting for them outside. “Let’s move out.” King Luca gave the command which they have all been waiting for all these while. Afterwards they got their horses and led the soldiers out of the city of Griffins. Harris had not taken his mind off from what Eric told him, so he was still waiting to hear the outcome of Eric’s discussion with his father. So as they headed for the city of Ironbrook, he rushed forward, coming close to his father and asked in a low tune since he also thought it to be a secret. “Father, how did it go?” Zach’s mind was no longer on that, he did not perceive Harris to keep thinking of that, so he asked back as he looked into his son’s eyes curiously. “How did what go?” Still wanting to keep it a secret, Harris did not answer that question with words but with an ey

After Harris was out of sight, Zachary Hawkins changed the pretentious discussion. “The King will now see you Eric.” “Okay.” Eric said as they both head to meet with King Luca Cole. In a couple of minutes they were in the king’s presence and Eric said. “Your majesty, you asked to speak with me.” “Yes,” Luca turned towards him. “We are ready to move out, so we want to know if you are set.” “Ermmm….” Eric stammered because he had not told the King about his soon departure and as Zach had advised, it was wise for him to tell the king that he would soon be leaving the country Palind back to his world. he struggled to get the right words to break the news he had for Luca but his facial expression already foretold that what he was trying to say was not something pleasant to be heard. “It’s okay, Eric, you can spit it out and stop bordering on how I will take it.” Luca encouraged him to speak and stopped holding his words.
