Chapter 10 (part 6)

The messenger app available in the tablet pinged several times in succession, alerting Trust enough to slam his hand on the tablet to hold on to the lock screen button. The sound, though muted, continued to ring like a bell in a wedding church.

They both manage to silence the app by muting the tablet. Betts opened the application and looked through the messages in curiosity. Besides the several active chat groups, one group named “nurse staff” rung proactively. It was at the top, with all the new messages updating in real-time.

Tapping it open, they read the uploading messages, and Trust found a familiar name, Aurea Horoi. Seeing this, he tapped to pause the scrolling up, ever-updating replies. Holding on her name, he made a new message, a private one, and sent, “Aurea, I’m glad you’re alive!”

Looking at the message, they both waited to see if they’d get a reply.
