Crunch. Crunch. The footsteps outside the dumpster continued as if it was surveying the place while the alarm on the phone stopped. This was a sound enough to wake any person, yet the creature outside did not touch the dumpster or bother to even investigate. But Cristian felt like the creature was not those who mindlessly sought things without purpose. Their movement was not clumsy nor erratic. They were taking their time with each second.

Passing moments spent controlling his breath, Cristian in high stakes hide and seek has begun to feel the sweat he has accumulated even before they got into the dumpster when two minutes ago, he barely noticed anything rolling down his chin.
